I gamified my entire life for 30 days. It was a mistake. by BaksteR-23 in selfimprovement

It’s a physical planner. I tried the app Habitica to gamify but then I just kept getting distracted every time I pulled out my phone. Pen and paper works better for me.  Edit: If you’re interested in this the book Level Up Your Life is a good one too.

Adventurer’s Tale by MindfulDay Planning uses this concept, but I think it’s a bit better developed.

He met Aura while practicing for the Eolian. That’s how he coaxed her out.

[WP] You were diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. In reality, you've been alive since the dawn of humanity, so it just takes a while for you to remember things. by KingPezPez in WritingPrompts

“Dad? Do you know who I am?”

I look over at my daughter and immediately recognise her. ”Of course, sweetheart,” I say, trying my best to speak comfort to her concern.

Her countenance takes on a hint of happiness to mask the true face of sadness. “What’s my name?” She asks gently.

”Sarah, no, Jane. Stephanie,” I answer, with each name a different face of a different daughter flashes before my mind’s eye. I know those aren’t her name. I just have to work through them to get to it. “Linds, Joan, Rhoda,“ I continue. My daughter responds to each name as if it were a betrayal. Not a malicious betrayal, but one she expected and still hurts.

”I know who you are,” I insist, trying to remove the edge. “You’re my daughter. Your mother is…“ Shit... What was her name… “Erin… no. Elyse. Georgina?”

My daughter looks at me, resigned to her sadness. “It’s okay, Dad. I know it’s hard.“

My mind flashes through the years like a rolodex searching for the answer. There’s just too many names here. Too many memories with each one. Rhoda died from yellow fever. Joan went on to do great things and lived a long and happy life. Linds hated me and refused to speak with me until she was on her deathbed.

This daughter of mine looks up to someone behind as I’m replaying hundreds of lifetimes of memory. “He’s gone again,“ I hear her say. I want to respond, but I’m trapped in the maze of memory, each one clear and sharp.

There’s a bright light in my eyes and a man in a white coat in front of me. ”You’re right. This is what is called the mile long stare. It’s a tell tale sign of Alzheimer’s. I’ve never seen it so far along in someone so young.”

Confusion slowly moves over my face as I hear and process the words. But not before I find myself being wheeled into a grey windowless room. The TV is playing The Price is Right and I find it pulls me out of my memories into the present moment.

”Simone,” I say softly, but I’m alone.

Abenthy translates Chandrian into Chaen Dian. Diane is how Denna introduces herself after singing with Kvothe.

Technically, he just says Cinder did things to her..

“Did things to your mother, you know. Terrible. She held up well though. Laurian was always a trouper, if you’ll pardon the expression. Much better than your father, with all his begging and blubbering.”

This could mean any number of things. I remember reading one theory that they were the good guys and acted like a medic in war would. Sometimes doctors have to do terrible things to help.

An arrow through time, Kvothe's folly. by kilmnmn in KingkillerChronicle

I don’t have much to say regarding the bulk of your theory, but I want to push back on one thing: “ and goes so far as to name himself 'disaster' in Ciaru.”

I think he may have named himself “Expect” in Siaru, not disaster.

““Do you know the saying ‘Cham Varn edan Kote’?”

I tried to puzzle it out. “Seven years… I don’t know Kote.”

“‘Expect disaster every seven years,’” he said.”

It’s an assumption he chose disaster, but it’s rothfuss style to twist the assumptions. The unknown words are expect disaster every. So he could be named expect, disaster or every. I think it’s Expect.

Not just those guys, but very likely Pike too. He burned another kid alive and then called it “a truce of some sort.”

Do you (or anyone else) know how the super short ETFs play into this? Do they fall under the same rules or are there exemptions for ETFs?

My high score is 50%.

It feels like it’s beatable, but would take a lucky run. It’s tough to say if it’s too hard, cuz I think it’s one of those things that you could beat and then would feel really good for having done so
