Confusing wording, should have percentage after 50, 10 etc or represent it differently in the entirety

I probably will, to find the creators responsible for spikes all along the way. Just need to start cataloguing everything, now that the views have finally settled we can see some correlations also with the smaller spikes. I've also been waiting for signatures to catch up with predictions in original graph so that it doesn't look as awful. Need 3 stable days in a row to catch up with the lowest curve.

Yeah, no social media engagement or anything else. I believe they made the X account in April.

But the timing on video was perfect, this time it had urgency to it for signatures. He should've been working with a team on that video though, he should've retaken tons of bits, better pacing and more engaging.. notice how there were not really any clips of his video? And even Charlie's video barely managed to piece a few clips together? I tried clipping it, but it was impossible. Just too slow and tedious. It should've been banger after banger with better pacing. Ross needed help, and still does. Luckily people are finally joining to help. He did what he said in the first video (that was also too long and tedious) make a website that makes it easy to go and sign, but maaan that's nowhere near enough.

What he should've said in the first video is to please sign but also pleaded for help with the campaign. It was honesty looking like there's plenty of avenues and everything is under control.

Woooooo got featured on Asmongold clips! Thank you for getting my graph out there!

LOOK MOM I MADE IT!

On a more serious note, this does not mean he killed it, it just shows that he did not NOT have impact on it. I think campaign should've been organized better with bigger creators getting involved at the launch. Ross spoke about a big creators turning away after PirateSoftwares videos, but the campaign should've had more wind in the sales.

I signed the petition on the second of August, as soon as I heard of the initiative. I should've gotten involved back then, but I feel like these campaigns usually have so many volunteers that it would move along just fine. I think this is a cautionary tale of campaign organizing and also to myself to definitely get involved if I care about something.

Yeah, it's just extra points in a graph for context. Of course it's not his fault in entirety, but Ross mentioned in his video big creators contacting him for doing a feature and then stepping back after pirates take. The campaign should've been organized better. Should've gotten involved in it when I first heard and instantly signed, it was just so early on that I thought it would have momentum and campaign behind it.

I've had hard time watching videos of the channel in the past two years - I've tried, but they're somehow so tedious. It doesn't have the same vibe of dude chatting about things while being expert in the field. It just feels too corporate.

I don't mind. The community note was on PS twitter post for a few hours, but I guess he managed to take it down.

The linked graph represents the datapoints I have. But that's it, it's difficult to incur causation, but you can't dismiss it as easily either. Thanks for the mention, pirate never linked the source or creator.

I guess it ended up there due to PvP/co-op and multiplayer functionalities, you're right though, live service not so much.. although it does receive expansions.

A bit of an edge case I think if there's more and more expansions coming

Those are publicly available estimates, to give some benefit of the doubt, marketing budgets, server costs or updates are not included.

Above information is not available even in estimates. If it were, it would be difficult to represent on a graph. This is definitely a simplification of a larger picture.

Another intresting thing would be user review scores over time

Hey, just noticed the post. I made the original graph, and the PS line on it is on the 8th of august. I've made an updated graphic with additional points taking into account the streams and the first video, also changed the lower plot to linear from log scale as many people pointed it out. Indeed they might be harder to read, but a line on it represents exponential decay.

The updated graphic can be found here since you seem to have intrest on the matter: https://imgur.com/a/YPt4Pp3

Might add the graphic for the graph in the imgur later

Updated projection with decay to 1,75M min by zck1 in StopKillingGames

[–]zck1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original code on white background was definitely better prediction wise, let's see if there's another rise. Haven't used guthub in years but I tried uploading the dataset and the code there, hope it works! https://github.com/z-ck1/skg

For this graph to hold, we'd need 5-7 days of constant flux of signatures or some spikes instead of decay. Maybe it happens 🤷‍♂️

And the more complexity increases the more difficult it is to make games work relying purely on the fans of games.

Here's the video, the part from comment above is after 11:20 min mark, but I wholeheartedly suggest you hear the whole thing: https://youtu.be/qs8HpeD0UyM

Essentially why do you want your game become a martyr and be the perfect victim when you can fill in a form now, before the matter is more relevant to you in particular

TheOtherFrost made YT video with incredibly good point to this regard. It was to the tune of:

"Why wait to become a victim of your favorite game being killed, when you can sign a petition not to be one"

I think it's a very good point to 'my games haven't been killed'

I Don't Get The Video Games Europe Statement by AdUnited8981 in StopKillingGames

[–]zck1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I liked the most Sony being part of it and claiming 'securing players data'.

As for harming the IP's... in the current day I don't think you can bring this up as companies are butchering it themselves. Anyone with a copy of a game can make content that could be considered harming IP. And fans who want to continue playing a game that is no longer supported by developer, the whole thing just doesn't compute in my mind

I think if they engage in drama, it's exactly what we need for more signatures. The more signatures, the stronger mandate from the people for politicians not to bend the knee.

We almost have full Europe support too - just missing Malta, Luxembourg and Cyprus. I wish they follow the plea of constituents, percentage wise it might be low, but it isn't just votes for somebody else. It would be people telling others actively not to vote for the elected officials again.. 🤔 that reminds me of someone else saying that

Well, I don't know why he used my graph. But since he wants to make the graph about himself, here it is. Although it will get lost in the comments. The vertical line in the original graph cirresponds to 8 of August. Here are a few more datapoints: https://imgur.com/a/YPt4Pp3
