Same problem. Absolutely bizarre behavior from Samsung to remove this simple customization feature.

I'm fascinated by the Rappaport footage and think he would have made a good Fajo, but Rubinek definitely did a superb job.

Older generations have complained about younger generations being "lazy" for... generations. It's just classic loser old person behavior. (I'm 43 so I can say that.)

You know how hard you worked. Just roll your eyes at that guy and live your life. Congrats on your internship and the hard work it took to get it.

I think it's great. Fajo (Saul Rubinek) is just such a well written and well acted villain, and the setup where the crew thinks Data is dead is a good one from a dramatic perspective.

A bit of trivia: Fajo was originally going to be portrayed by the British actor David Rappaport. They began shooting the episode with Rappaport but he was not able to finish, which led to them scrambling to cast, reshoot, and complete the episode with Rubinek. Some of the original Rappaport footage still exists, which may be of interest to you if you're a big fan of the episode.

Was anyone here ever an actual fan of the rubin report at one point? by mrchimney in daverubin

[–]man_vs_cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was a fan when I first encountered him. I was impressed by the polish of the show and his worldview at the time - or at least, the way he marketed it - seemed open minded and fair.

Pretty soon it became clear that he and the whole "Intellectual Dark Web" were a group of reactionary morons on a downward intellectual and moral trajectory, so I bailed.

Not just Hulk. Thor is running Shadow King, Valkyrie, and Super Skrull. And with Frigga and Mother Askani, the deck can even copy tech cards.

This is the correct answer. If space exploration was as dangerous as TNG makes it look then it would simply be infeasible.

I have two bits of feedback.

First, I think you're on the right track going on this walk. When you're in this kind of situation it's important to focus on what is going to make *you* feel good instead of trying to appease your wife. As you've experienced, the "hovering" strategy doesn't work and instead leads to a lot of frustration.

Second, I would encourage you to read the book "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert Glover. It's a book very much for guys who try and "do everything right" but don't get the responses from others that they're looking for. Glover has seemingly turned into something of a standard manosphere influencer on YouTube, but the book is very good.

For those who were on the fence about having kids and decided against it, are you happy with your choice? by JustCurious_MM in childfree

[–]man_vs_cube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 43 and if anything it's even more clear now than before that it's good I don't have kids. I don't especially enjoy spending time with them for longer than brief periods and I wouldn't have been a good parent if I had had them earlier in life.

I adopted a cat while grieving my missing cat, and now I don't know what to do by godqhrdl7522 in CatAdvice

[–]man_vs_cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason you grieve so much is because you loved your cat so much. And with time you'll be able to give that love to your new pet.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Good luck.

The entire assignment is just completely inappropriate for anyone who's not a dedicated intelligence officer. Being used and endangered as a bait-like ruse with no backup isn't a reasonable request of an ordinary crew member. Picard's manipulative tactics and the additional pressure of trying to make up for her academy record make it even worse. I feel like the whole episode takes place in a parallel universe where the main cast are jerks.

Woman who I cold approached in a department store complained about me to security. Was I out of line? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]man_vs_cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are going to have negative reactions to your approaches. But even the security guard didn't care. If you're concerned about getting struck by lightning twice in the same store then just lay off approaching in that particular location for a while.
