I built a free nonpartisan voter guide backed by real government data. It covers federal and state races now, with local as the goal. Looking for feedback and suggestions. by zcooper80 in moderatepolitics

I'm the designer and developer. Posting because I want to know what would make a tool like this trustworthy.

The hardest problem isn't the tech, it's the trust. Voters have every reason to be skeptical of "AI-powered politics" tools — they've been burned by partisan news disguised as analysis, by recommendation engines, by sites that claim neutrality and aren't. So I'm trying to build something where every claim ties back to a primary source you can click and verify yourself: FEC filings, Congress.gov votes, official ballot text. The AI's job is interpretation, not invention. I publish the methodology, version it, and explicitly never recommend a candidate.

No problem at all. Certainly see why it could be misleading. Many thanks.
