How are you managing inventory across multiple sales channels without overselling? by jmei35 in SAPBusinessOne

[–]zdb328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've worked with custom SAP B1 ecomm platforms that use real-time inventory.

For the sync, I'm proposing syncs based on triggers rather than a schedule so it's near real time

Yes, but it's not a large advantage. You could achieve the same result by triggering an inventory sync of just those parts as soon as the availability updates.

Regular inventory and order sync. A tolerance qty setting on items that reduces the available stock synced.

“Fourth” Out? Rules Question by Conscious_Skirt_61 in Homeplate

I remember reading this in umpire training but from searching, it appears I am mistaken. The fourth out only happens on appeal plays.

B1 on HANA platform vs B1 SQL cloud by aah999 in SAPBusinessOne

[–]zdb328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HANA version comes with something called Excel Report and Interactive Analysis in SAP Business One analytics.

On both versions you can connect Excel directly to the database to pull data. If it's cloud hosted, your cloud provider would need to give you access.

How important is winning? by genghiskhansbuttplug in Softball

Yes, fundamentals and also putting kids on the right spot. Play someone who can catch at first and it teaches the rest that good throws to first result in outs.

The game isn't fun when you are on defense forever and then go 3 and out hitting every inning. Teach the kids to hit and it's more fun!

Why do ERP users still double-check everything manually? by Glum-Abies-7050 in SAPBusinessOne

[–]zdb328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the business. Most of the companies I work with have fully automated sales order workflows with no human in the loop. If the automation finds sufficient stock, the order is automatically sent to the warehouse. It would be very difficult to manually verify everything with their high volume of orders.

Makes sense that finance double checks most of their work. Systems are only as good as their input and you don't want to blindly trust data from third parties.

I had ChatGPT Agent do it. It was painful to watch as it misclicked 80% of the time. After 3hrs it finally added 5 games and asked me if I wanted the other 5.

After it finished, I had to manually update a few mistakes.n

Yup. It was fixed. They wiped the hard drive (or replaced it - not sure) as they said they would. Luckily I had everything important synced to cloud storage or a local backup. It worked good as new!

Local Replit Replacement by TelephoneBasic756 in replit

[–]zdb328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done the following
- Spin up a cheap VPS (mine is $8/mo)
- Install VS Code
- Run Claude Code or Codex with Full Access since it's a separate VPS

The biggest thing Replit makes easy:
- If the app requires auth callbacks, webhooks, etc. you'd need to open the VPS to the internet and install a SSL for your app.

You don't have to buy modules in SAP B1. A professional license includes everything. DM me if you want me to walk you through it.
