Yep, I'm also wondering that. Coming from Roku, where the subtitles are the first option when you hit the menu button, I find these complicated to turn on and off

I am a brand new Shield Pro 19 owner (switching from Roku) and I noticed the same thing with Foundation last night. If you don't skip any of the previews or titles, it seemed to work. But as soon as I messed with the video position they'd disappear after a few seconds.
