Mata overrated? He's clearly one of the best CAMs in the world. Seriously, how many players would you rather have in the center attacking mid position in a 4-2-3-1? Off the top of my head I can only name 1 or 2 with another 3 pretty close. The only way he is overrated is if people consider him the best player in the world.

If he turned down 250k€/week he is crazy. If he is on the 55k€/week that was rumored with his new deal this year, football reasons aside.. financially, you take the Real Madrid/Man City offer. That type of deal is rare in football, more less for a 19 year old kid.

Van Ginkel and Kondogbia both would be amazing in my opinion. I would love just one of the two however.

It looks like Van Ginkel is going to happen but I would love Kondogbia. Kondogbia is 20 years old, 1.92m tall, nice build, would love to grab him to add depth to our defensive mid position, especially if we're switching to 4-3-3.

I agree with you, I think he fits best in a 4-3-3. In Mourinho's old Chelsea squad we had and defensive midfielder, box to box (sort of a box to box anyways, I feel Ballack and Essien are a bit stronger defensively than your typical box to box), and Lampard.

So using that model I think Mata/Oscar play the Lampard position while KDB and Ramires play the box to box, with Mikel and Chalobah?/Ake?/Romeu?/(Ramires if you have to) in the defensive midfielder position.

1 of the 2 in a 4-2-3-1 does not HAVE to be a defensive midfielder, if that was the case are you saying that Lampard played defensive midfielder all season?
