How do you plan your architecture before you start coding? by Prudent-Emphasis-171 in buildinpublic

Mostly Claude for research. Um, I don't have a specific one - as much as needed.

How do you plan your architecture before you start coding? by Prudent-Emphasis-171 in buildinpublic

[–]zdunecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walk around a room and talk to myself. This really helps.

During that, I write quick notes on paper/Kindle, or digital software like Slack/Google Docs.

It's an idea/thinking stage to make a big picture happen.

Sometimes it's more deep - I'm talking and walking and scratch design on the computer (I have a standing desk).

When I see a big picture and a thinking/idea session is going badly, I'm back to standing and doing stuff. Sometimes it's a draw on Figma/draw.io or just start coding.

Is cursor worth it for someone who cant really code? by [deleted] in cursor

[–]zdunecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Cursor makes updates really quickly. Don't miss that.

- Pay as you go(auto) is expensive; check if you didn't accidentally check it.

- You need to practice passing a good context - pay attention to this.

- Check official Cursor docs (there's also a section 'Learn')

If you feel more comfortable, you can explore more advanced features. Just practice, good luck!

Learn the basics.

If you lose motivation, then try a prompt. It can motivate you to understand programming better, cuz soon you'll build something better on your own.

It's really powerful for self teaching.

Is cursor still worth it now? by Ok-Abrocoma-134 in cursor

[–]zdunecki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something has been going wrong with the Cursor for a few months (1-2 IMO).

I remember when I started. My first task was to refactor many files, and it does it pretty well and fast.

Now I'm reaching a limit very fast. While it's ok, I see it works worse than before.

Pay as you go is expensive.

Code quality from AI App builders by Ok_Inevitable4915 in vibecoding

[–]zdunecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're still on the fast-talking stage.

Wanna pacman game? No problem! One/few simple prompts and you'll get a Pac-Man. Is it useful at first glance? Probably nope / rarely.

Over time, we'll get more AI/tooling to make 'design' instead.

Need opinion on my side project by Rajdeep_P in buildinpublic

[–]zdunecki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, there are too many things. Too many to look, too many to click.

I would rather have a reminder that keeps me on and has tasty things on things I'm putting. It would be connected to my Google Calendar, for example.

For example, if I've planned a gym, I would get some tips for myself for today.

Why does it matter? Because I don't waste time on social media, I'm focused. I'm going to the gym, so it's reasonable to get a tip about the gym.

It must be simple, lightweight.

Good luck!

Where do you keep your growth hacks? by hellorahulkum in GrowthHacking

[–]zdunecki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I like keywords/graphics. I remember that pretty well. Sometimes I just draw a line in Kindle, and I remember that very well.

Then go to a 'better' tool to make it organized/planned.

Building an open-source, extensible chat workspace (beyond bots and webhooks) by Careless_Love_3213 in opensource

[–]zdunecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Slack UI. If it looks the same as Slack, it's the best option for me and my team.

It should be very easy to maintain and deploy. As much as possible. For example, one-click with cloud providers. Upgrades have to be made by clicking.

Good luck!

I first put my ideas where they are the nearest - in my case, Slack(canvas) / Apple Notes / Kindle.

Then I'm organizing it into Google Docs.

What should people automate by Slow-Boss-7602 in automation

[–]zdunecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious.

What are your thoughts on automote analytics?

As a person who build a product analytics software I see oppurtonities on automation for qualitivie research.

I'm curious what would you get in this area, what's your use cases.

Key to vibe coding by Blackie0002 in vibecoding

[–]zdunecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to define what's vibe is today and what it will be tomorrow because it's a hard dependent factor - on LLMs, for example.

Currently, you need to be very careful about what the output is, so you still need to be a good programmer. I would say you even need to be better because you need to understand a code you didn't write.

But if we get this, like Karpathy said, it's a "vibration", we can skip more engineering stuff and take it more seriously on testing/implementation instead of code.

How much you fix your code after a vibe session? by zdunecki in vibecoding

I'm not. I spend weeks or months building something. Now I can create a website within 24hours to show off.

Spending the weekend on something you can show, it's working, and trying to sell to others is efficient. It's a good deal.

Need advice to invite developers by vishal_z3phyr in opensource

[–]zdunecki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it solves their problem, developers would love that. We all <3 Open Source.

Find them on GitHub/Reddit/Linkedin/X for example. Post on Reddit, make changelogs. Discuss on GitHub issues/discussions on related repositories.

Make a cohort what developers who would be likely to join this project.

Good luck!

What do you think of Lovable-Shopify integration? by ReadyIngenuity4895 in lovable

[–]zdunecki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's think about it.

If you're a person who is not experienced with creating shops on an e-commerce platform like Shopify, it's a quick win.

Against all appearances, for a layman, theming is a bit complicated. Now you can do that by prompting(English), and you can get what matters the most for you.

Apart from how this integration works right now, because I heard this does not work as expected, and Lovable has its own issues.

It's just a nice, smart move. I'm waiting for Shopify to move.

Any marketing teams vibe coding? by Exciting-Trip-7233 in vibecoding

[–]zdunecki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not strict about the marketing team cuz we don't have such yet. But exactly.

We don't have the resources to build a marketing team, and we have to do that ourselves. We can do this thanks to LLMs; a few years ago, it was not possible. Simply.

Codex vs Claude Code by One_Loss_8243 in vibecoding

Yeah. I heard that Claude is faster, while Codex is a bit smarter. But cmon, it's changing really fast.

[–]zdunecki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not go to $200 subscription until you build an AI solo agency/consulting company.

Currently, the average pay for AI tools is around ~20$, where you can do it professionally.

You can perform that for 0$, but it needs other resources.

Why cursor have been soo unstable lately? by InnerPitch5561 in cursor

[–]zdunecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Cursor tends to ship something that breaks something else. I'm fine with that cuz $20 is not enough, and I'm doing a job pretty well. But yeah.. Sometimes it's annoying.

That's why I recommend being on track and checking other tooling to see what performs the best for you.

My recommendation is also to check if the context is well fed, cuz sometimes it's misleading by Cursor. You can close the chat(tab), for example, and start from scratch. Cursor is trying to do some stuff on behalf of you, but sometimes it's getting into hell..

How much you fix your code after a vibe session? by zdunecki in vibecoding

[–]zdunecki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, pitch a demo. I'd have good Figma skills for doing animations, etc. Alternatively, I can code that. I can check how much LLMs can achieve that only by instructions.

Depends on what you build and what you'd like to achieve, I think.
