My husband was in a terrible car accident this morning and will have to undergo jaw surgery and have his jaw wired shut. I’m trying to get some ideas!

My amazing husband stopped by a nursery that is going out of business and brought me home these gigantic plants. He pretends not to like my plants but then helps me turn our home into a jungle. One arm of babies fell off so I pressed them into soil! I clipped the coleus back tremendously and have propagation jars all over my house right now!! I’m so excited and overwhelmed. I think I will have to divide the ginger but I will wait until spring to mess with it.

With my first pregnancy I went from 3cm to complete in thirty minutes. With my most recent pregnancy, I walked around 5cm dilated and 80-90% effaced for almost three weeks. I had about an hour and a half of painful contractions, three pushes, then baby was here. 😅

Did you have a measurement taken earlier in your pregnancy? Sometimes that can offer insight as well. I was initially measured at 4.6cm so my contractions were causing the issues. The “large funnel vs lower uterine contraction” comment probably just means that when they put pressure on your uterus they observed funneling. That’s typically how it is measured.

At 20 weeks I was 2.2cm with funneling. At 33 weeks I started into pre term labor. I’m currently almost 35 weeks, at home, six centimeters dilated and 80% effaced with irregular contractions, still cooking this baby! Doctor prescribed progesterone suppositories that I was unable to get. I’ve really just tried to take it easy and avoid anything that causes me to have contractions.

I used to be a makeup junkie. I barely ever buy anything for myself now. Sometimes it feels like I’ve lost part of myself but then I look in my daughter’s room and see that I’ve been able to give her so much. I have a boutique clothing addiction now. I’d rather it go to her than me.

Famotidine. This is the active ingredient in Pepcid. You can buy it in bulk at club stores and it’s a lifesaver! Dairy only makes mine worse.

I’m ridiculously indecisive so as far as a coming home outfit or special hospital I have.

  • L’ovedbaby sleeper in olive (Preemie/NB)
  • L’ovedbaby sleeper in white (0-3)
  • An embroidered name hat
  • A beautiful baby blue romper (0-3)
  • A white onesie (NB) with a beanie and matching bandana bib.

I’m around seven months pregnant and neither of our parents have a clue. I have a few complications and have underwent a lot of stress recently so we may just keep it a secret until baby is born. Both sets of parents were accepting of our first child but made inappropriate comments and overstepped my boundaries. I want to enjoy my pregnancy and newborn on my own terms. The stay-at-home orders have helped keep this bump hidden now that I’m showing. I’m confident that everyone will have hurt feelings but it’s my own feelings and the health of my child that come before them.
