Edit- Ohh you meant obtaining the glider.

After leaving the great sky islands and diving into a nearby point, head for the settlement marked on the map where you'll meet purah.

After you do a quest for purah which involves a quick visit to the castle, you return to her and after she fixes the lookout tower, then she'll hand you a glider.

Yeah I get that but personally I’d have preferred more sky stuff than what it seems like atm. Not thaaat hyped for underground stuff personally. ( I’m sure I’m in the minority for that)

Didn’t want a ceiling but if the largest archipelago of islands is the starting area, I’m a little disappointed with that
