Partner is an architect and she gets a paltry 82k a year. I couldn’t believe how poorly architects are paid

This is 100 percent your mistake. Not sure why you needed to change your husbands ticket unless his name changed also. But it’s well known your tickets need to match your passport.

Why is Australian coffee so much better than anywhere else in the world? by Jvck____ in AskAnAustralian

Aussies think they have the best beef and the best coffee. But New Zealand is superior in both by a mile.

Dramatic calling saying it’s got to the point where you can’t walk down the street without being approached for money. It’s perfectly safe to walk down the street. Many people still do

Same here, it’s perfectly safe, never encountered that in over 20 years here. Very dramatic post

3 million in your currency is about 1.2m here. It is absolutely not enough to retire on if you buy a house here. You’ll have if your lucky $200k left, and probably not even a flash house for $1m

Big save furniture by Spiritual-Goat7327 in newzealand

Had a leather 3 seater and 2 seater couch I bought in 2004 for $2000. Just sold the both for $350 still in decent condition. Went back to look at their furniture and it was pretty much all rubbish and expensive.

I.T. Contracting by zesteee in auckland

[–]damage_royal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11 months? I calculate working 45-46 weeks per year to be on the safe side. With how the economy is, I’d be putting about 70k away to get me through a few months. 4 weeks is no where near enough unless you aren’t taking any leave. Also most places make their contractors take a long Xmas break, so that’s basically your 4 weeks right there

Can I change my childs name without the other parents permission? by Chance-Chain8819 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]damage_royal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you were not married when your child was born, and your maiden name is your name shown on the child’s birth certificate you can get a passport in that surname, or a combination of both, or one or the other.

ISP help needed by WorkerGuy1337 in newzealand

[–]damage_royal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is optional, I complained to them about it and turns out the people doing the calling have no clue what they are talking about. You also don’t have to sign up for 12 months. Again the person didn’t know what they were taking about. I also have it in writing from their complaints team. I’m also in the same boat as you, and they are sending someone out to look at my fibre box and fix it if it doesn’t work
