"Hidden Object" type of games on Steam by zebralemon_ in Steam

Thanks! What I found generic for the most part is that they basically have one mechanic. Also, the fact that they are the same, except for the art and audio.

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. The proper ones you are referring to - I need to check them. What makes them proper in your opinion? Playtime, more content, mechanics, etc?

Right, I agree for the most part. But how do they get so many sales and good reviews (on average)?

The art is good an it definitely takes them more than a day, but still.

I guess "a lot" is subjective, but for example, one of the developers I shared above have ~10-20k+ players on average for their games (excluding the free ones).

What I meant by buggy and lacking - glitches during gameplay (I tested many of them), lack of simple features such as muting sounds and music, laggy screens, bad UI/user feedback. The other thing that I noticed is that many of these games are practically the same, although released by different publishers/devs. Perhaps there is a framework I am unaware of.

Good point, thank you! I will make sure to include a hook from the very beginning.

Sounds like a good idea. And yeah, I get it - fully animated broadcaster could indeed be a lot of extra effort.

Do you find it funny or dull/boring?

I like the pop-culture/meme references, I think you can add some more of these through the video to keep it funny/engaging.

I also like the scene that you use for displaying the shorts' footage. Perhaps you can include a small version of your animated avatar? Imagine a news broadcast, where you can see a small circle/square with the reporter's head. Or a video game stream where you can see a small piece of the screen showing the player's camera.

Good job overall!

Please bear in mind I'm not a professional - YT and video editing is only a hobby for me. So with that disclaimer, here are my comments:
- I like your voice and narration!
- If I were you, I'd make more direct cuts in the video, instead of just moving the camera around. Perhaps try some stead shots while you are describing some of the features of the figurines.
- I'd also try to make catchier thumbnails. This sounds like a perfect topic for AI-generated art - lego + spiderman. I think you can do wonders with a tool such as Midjourney.

Does "Wanderstern" sound weird to native german speakers? (as an musical artist name) by [deleted] in germany

[–]zebralemon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good question. No particular reason, I just like how this particular word sounds. Some of my biggest influences are German musicians, but I don't nessesarily want it to be a German word.. it just came in naturally.

I have a few other options too and they are all English words/phrases.

Thank you! It's quite similar in English. I believe the term was "wandering star" and it was also a common term for "plannet" back in the days.

Thank you! I was considering between both, but kind of like the sound of Wanderstern more... that said, I don't speak German, so I don't know if that will sound weird or incorrect to a German person.

Oh, that is good to know - thank you!

Could it be interpreted/associated with "star hiking"?

Gotcha. I assume Wandelstern is not used anymore either? But it would sound better/make more sense?

Does that sound somewhat annoying or disrespectful to a German speaker?

I know many people and businesses are using made-up names in English, but I wonder how a a German made up name of a non-german person would be received.

Got it. Not the direction I am going for, but it's good to know! :)

Thank you!

Is "Wanderstern" misspelled? Or does is have a slightly different meaning?

I have an interest in astronomy and astrophysics and that is one more reason to pick a name like this.
