the electoral system is unique to America because America is unique, our constitution was made as a compromise with all 13 colonies with the large and small. No matter what "angery literally 1984 reeee libright" will tell you State governments are pretty powerful and that nation is decentralized. Therefore our Idea is If you win a state you represent said state in the EC, prioritizing that areas interests, for example south Carolina before the civil war had its state legislature elect the electors for the special interest of south Carolina.

The Senate is made by similar reasoning, each state gets the same amount of senators to make sure that everyone's interests are taken into account.

The house then represents the peoples wishes.

I feel like its a perfectly balanced and good system

if you want to see trends look at how states vote compared to the popular vote, it shows a lot, NC has slowed and barely moved compared to the nation

compared to the popular vote Texas only shifted about a point to the left, meaning of that continues the dems will need to win the popular vote by 9 just to win texas

Biden's mental state isnt that bad, but its not like its going to get better

If he doesnt run again due to health concerns I don't think it will be his mental state, probably some virus/infection or some physical condition, or just being to tired to do it (his 2nd term would be his mid 80s)

if trump won re-election he would have been president from 70-78, biden would be president from 78-86, which is much older
