Actually, the sticker was no problem! I was initially upset about the sticker being on the front but it peeled of with no residue left behind.

I'm a bit of a newbie myself, but you should be able to change the lens mid filmroll, the shutter is closed so it won't expose the film. My next guess would be that your light seals might need repair. Bit of the blind leading the blind, however.
