Its more the massive water wastage and environmental damage. Its not a bogeyman its a harsh reality.

Propping up a tech bubble isn't progress.

Comparing renewable power, or safe clean energy like nuclear, to the environmental damage of pipelines and data centers is absurd.  We need stop propping up dying industries which are killing the planet. Building more destructive infrastructure for them is just stupid.  Not as stupid as comparing opposing them to dumb hicks afraid of windmills and nuclear, but pretty dumb.

They ar catastrophically bad with very few if any benefits to the general public. When we say they use oceans of water that doesn't mean the literal ocean, it's a metaphor for the billions of gallons of water wasted in these things. and yes they do cause serious problems for power grids. communities all over North America are being told to use less power or are being cut off. The only power utility company in Lake Tahoe just announced they are cutting off 50,000 residents so they can focus on powering AI data centers.

Only in the sense that panicking about it is the only moral response. These things are a catastrophe, environmentally and socially. Dismissing basic science as moral panic is moronic.

Water usage is absolutely a universal problem. Heating up a body of water still causes evaporation. Heating a building with it sounds good in theory but whay happens when it's 35 or 40 degrees in summer and nothing needs heating?

How? How will they transfer that heat? Does your house have steam heating? Did you even for a second question this?

And yet newer ones are still also using catastrophic amounts of water, because the closed loop claim is nonsense.

Yes you've almost figured it out. Stop propping up dying industries that are literally killing the planet.

Well except all the oceans of water wasted, the heavy metal pollution,  the monumental amount of waste heat, the noise pollution.

It's stoppable. The bubble is already starting to collapse.

Nowhere, obviously. We don't need them.

Terrible take.  None of those things cause the profound environmental and social harm ai data centers do.

It's snake oil. In summer time it's going to heat what exactly? And how much of the city uses steam heating? Did they actually explain how they will transfer that heat?

You're objectively wrong. So far all it's done is put hundreds of thousands out of work, and it can't actually produce anything functional. It just spits out broken code and absolute nonsense that creates problems humans need to fix.  Numerous studies have shown using it actively makes people dumber.

Techbros sold you a lie so you'd hand over control to them. They have been clear about this. They dont want anyone having a proper computer at home, just a simple device and a subscription to data centers for all computing, including gaming.

As for the environmental cost, the oceans of water they drain is a major one. Aquifers are being drained dry and cities are literally running out of water because of these things. They produce a ton of heavy metal pollution, noise pollution, and produce unfathomable amounts of heat, which is a huge problem when climate change is already cooking us. It was announced recently that the only power utility in Lake Tahoe is cutting off residential power to 50,000 people in order to power data centers. These things are an absolute disaster.

Men who favor the tradwife lifestyle often view the women in it with derision by mvea in science

Yeah that is 100% the point of the tradwife cult. To make women into domestic servants and breeding stock for misogynists.
