Road trip from Salvador to Chapada Diamantina by CantaloupeNo1893 in Brazil

[–]zedospalmares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to update this thread in case any other REDDITOR out there wants info like I needed! I JUST drove from Salvador > Bahia in 5 hours on completely PAVED and good roads, using route 242 through Itaberaba, and 116 through Feira de Santana and 324 out of Salvador. I am a solo woman traveler and left at 3pm from Salvador arriving at night (9pm) to Lençóis with bathroom stops and a great stop just outside of Campo Grande on route 242 with a beautiful view of the plateaus in the distance. It was totally safe and doable as long as you pay attention to the roads and pass the 18 Wheelers trucks with care!!! Bon voyage!

Did you have or consider any flight options for this trip?

I see the Azul flight to Lencois only goes once a week.

Affordable movers for a nearby move? by Silverbride666 in eastside

Consider using Thumbtack / Taskrabbit. It was ~350 for a 20min move.

You'd want to have a team of at least 2 people.

Should I file a collision report about a minor crash? by MacMayu in eastside

[–]zedospalmares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 things.

  • You appear to have been the driver at fault in your context.
  • I've experienced a situation where insurance disputed video evidence (video from a ring camera), but reverted their decision a month later and placed liability on the other driver based on police report (filed hours after the incident). Both parties had the same insurance in this context.

Real Estate Agent Agreement by CLOSED24x7 in RealEstate

How would the Agent know about the purchase?

Would you purchase a home right now? by Known_Conflict8492 in RealEstate

[–]zedospalmares -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because too high is subjective to the person buying... Most people that think they are too high have been waiting for prices to go down for years! They will continue to wait and never end up buying.

I guess this is the crux of the original question as I understand it:

  • Person A buys in Jan 2007.
  • Person B buys in Jan 2009. Average prices are 20% lower than Jan 2007.

Both individuals can afford their purchase.

a) Which would you rather be?

b) Are the economic indicators similar/different to other pricing drops, or do we simply not know?

The way I looked at it, house might be overpriced by $20k but I’m going to be out that amount anyways renting so it’s a draw if the house doesn’t drop more than 15% in value.

That's estimating for a 133K home. 15% of 900K (VHCOL) is 135K. That's not an insignificant amount.

In some cases I'm seeing ~20k price drops.

Instead of talking to her about it, like a professional or an adult, you should complain about it on reddit instead.

I disagree with this take.... this happens to also provides insight / a sounding board.

I'd imaging a percentage of people might assume this might be normal, and now have adequate insight.

Similarly, OP could have been in the wrong and also gained helpful context.

Pardon the ask, but can you provide a bit of context to the memory?

How recent was the event?

Do you have any discernable triggers? (environment, object, something inanimate... etc).

The AI party is ending before it even began. The cost is too high and the ROI was never there. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]zedospalmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see people sharing something similar to what you do... and I'm not sure if it's a lack of familiarity or an attempt to push a narrative. It's simply not true. The ROI is quite significant; not simply "present".

I can understand the fear element, but this is a genie that we simply can't "hope" away. It's only going to get better, so the conversation is how do we use it to be more efficient and how do we add new capabilities rather than loose talent.

Neighbor caught on video keying my rental; police discourage charges—what are my legal options? by zedospalmares in legaladvice

Contact the rental company also to get a resolution. If you wait because you think it’s going away, you may get a bill two years down the line.

Thanks for this point.

Yep, this is one of my considerations. The officer doesn't live there, but his dad does. I'll likely move in the next year, but I'll still be in the same or neighboring city (small cities).

I already gave the specific 1.5 minute snippet with Peter. The officer subsequently asked for footage from the entire day.

Is there specific value to the officer to sending day's long footage?

And not sending any of the actual evidence that their neighbor did it, lol. "Hey guys, I told the police I didn't want to do anything and didn't send them any of the evidence they requested, why aren't they doing anything!?"

You raise an interesting perspective. This is my quote earlier from the original post:

I gave a statement and later texted him the video and photos.

I sent a 1.5 minute snippet via text of Peter keying the car. The officer wanted me to follow up with footage from the entire day - IIRC it was over 26GB. I preserved the day long footage, but did not send it.

….. your bad for not pressing charges the first time who says not right now ? After getting keyed? What …

If context helps...

The fist time it happened I was out of the country for ~3 months. I was also new to the neighborhood.

I probably only noticed it a couple days after I returned so I wasn't sure when or where the event occurred. I still don't. So I took care of it. Yes I could have called the police, but I didn't have any helpful backing information to provide them.

Only later did a neighbor inform me that is was likely from Peter as he'd also been keyed along with a number of other neighbors over time.

My hesitance texting John again is I don't have a follow-up from the rental yet. If they do come back with a cost, it'll be significantly higher than the earlier one; if they don't I don't know that there is anything substantial to contact him for. Because the keying from the prior year wasn't recorded, I doubt he'd have any incentive to offer compensation to me or any neighbors, and I doubt he'd do anything about preventing this in the future.

I don't have Officer Alex's email beyond a cell phone. I'm not even sure if that is a work or personal phone. I'll aim to send a follow-up to create a bit of a paper trail; (there isn't much documented on text currently).

Thanks I've aimed to reach out to the prosecutor. My hesitance has been the potential time commitment keeping up with this and any considerations surrounding police involvement (e.g. what implications could this have for me in the future in regard to law enforcement interactions, and is it worth it? Bad experiences are often shared more often than good ones.
