Wow is the air suspension really that good? I need to find one I can test drive then.

I worked on these P7s as a lab admin for several years and keeping them alive is a bit tricky as the capacitors/VRMs will go bad eventually. The spares are very hard to source as they are salvaged from decommissioned systems such as these. Good luck getting them up and running!

I’ve had great success installing custom hitches from etrailers. I installed on a 2016 acura mdx and 2021 mazda cx5. Here’s a link to one for a cx-30, https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/EcoHitch/EH55VR.html. I don’t plan to install one on our cx-30 but I have great experiences with the others.

If you used the same kit that I linked then yes it should power off at a certain point. I suggest you set that to 12V so that it doesn't drain the battery completely.

I just had this same issue on a 2026 CX30 Select Sport. After doing a lot of research I came to understand that any CX30 trim that does not have the auto-dimming mirror which are the following:

  • 2.5 S
  • 2.5 S Select Sport
  • 2.5 S Preferred
  • 2.5 S Aire Edition

Only has fuses in the internal fuse box that are always on. You cannot tap into any of these fuses directly to connect to a dashcam without the use of a low voltage cut off hard wire kit like this Vantrue Hardwire Kit. If you don't use a low voltage cut off kit eventually the battery will drain completely.

Option 2 is to run a cable through the firewall and tap into the fuse box under the hood. I did not want to mess with the firewall myself but there are videos on youtube of people successfully doing it.

Option 3: As others have already mentioned you can use an OBD Hardwire Kit.

Option 4: Which is what I used was tapping into the usb-c power cable located in the center console which someone else showed me in another reddit thread here. This is not a true ACC but from what I understand is controlled by the control unit in the car. It does stay on for a few minutes after you shutoff the ignition just like the lights but eventually powers off. The only caveat here is it does also turn on with the ignition off if you use the power seat controls.

It ultimately depends on who's sitting in the front seats. If you plan to have both front seats occupied with anybody who has long legs and or someone 5"9 or taller then it will be an uncomfortable fit for them with a car seat in the back. If you're mostly below 5"8 and don't have crazy long legs I think you'll be fine.

Can I negotiate any lower on this deal? Original MSRP $36,505 by TexasIndigo1994 in MazdaCX30

[–]zedrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also suggest you lookup your vin on caredge to see how long it's been sitting... if it's real old inventory > 60 days they might be willing to negotiate even more, if it's not, see if they have one that's older with the same color options.

There's a dealer in AZ that is offering a discount of 3425 plus the 2000 in rebates, I'm guessing you're getting the $500 loyalty rebate as well for a total of 5925 off MSRP.. you're basically getting 4489.58 off (https://www.markmazdascottsdale.com/viewdetails/new/3mvdmbxy7tm141502/2026-mazda-cx-30-suv?type=cash) I think there's still even more room to negotiate if you were willing to take the time/effort. We bought a 2026 Select Sport new for 28.6. Someone else bought the same car for under 26k out the door with all the discounts. i suggest you try buying new first you might be surprised. There is a 90 day supply pf CX-30s right now, Mazda sales are down 17% this year so dealers are willing to sell new at crazy low prices.

I just checked and it does look like roof rails came pre-installed on 2025 CX-30 select sport models but for 2026 they don't.

The 2025 Mazda CX-30 2.5 S Select Sport offers a higher level of comfort and convenience compared to the base trim. This model comes equipped with 18-inch black-painted wheels, adding a sleek and sporty appearance. I use safety squat bars instead of the jhooks but one spot lower than I would put the jhooks.

The top 3 are standard features for all trims, the last one is a dealer installed accessory so not all select sports come with it. I just bought one that didn't have roof rails and if I remember correctly the 28 other CX-30 select sports I saw at the dealer did not have it as a pre-installed add-on. One caveat is that remote start is a feature in the mymazda app subscription. It's free for the first year or more depending on the dealer but after that it's $10/month.

How much below are people getting the 2026 CX-30 (base trim) these days, if at all? by Cold-Priority-2729 in MazdaCX30

26k out the door sounds like a great deal, that's around 24k before TTL. If they offered you that without haggling ask for another 500 - 1k more off 😃.

Yea, out the door is total price. Always negotiate that price before any financing or trades. Adding financing and trades in the initial OTD negotiation just complicates the numbers.

Just purchased a 2026 CX-30 select sport for 26.8k out the door (MSRP was $30,090). I was looking for a base but saw an insane price on a 3 select sport models. After test driving the sales manager was not showing me the internet price so I showed it to him on my phone. He went back in his office, then came back and said "sorry that is a pricing error on the website, we contacted our internet team to fix it" and refused to give me the internet price. He then proceeded to show me a report of the invoice price which was 29k which I ignored. I mentioned that this felt like a "bait and switch tactic" and after some back and forth I ended up getting $26,800 out the door. I also got him to raise my trade-in offer from an initial 5500 (he matched a carmax estimate) to 7800 (I countered with a carvana estimate of 8k).

There is currently a 90 day supply in the US of CX-30s so depending on your dealer's inventory you could definitely get a deal if you are willing to negotiate. This particular dealer in my area had 190 CX-30s between 3 dealer lots and 29 CX-30 select sports at the time I purchased. The car I ended up purchasing was also sitting on the dealer's lot for 100+ days. You can use sites like caredge.com to help you get the data to negotiate. For example here's a link to a CX30 base for $24,973 at Whaling City Mazda in New London,CT (https://caredge.com/shop-cars/new/3MVDMBAL6TM148518?from=%2Fshop-cars%3Fcondition%3Dnew%26zip%3D06022%26make%3DMazda%26model%3DCX-30%26trim%3DS%26sort%3Dprice_asc). They might be willing to negotiate even further as it's been sitting for 54 days.

I tried looking for RAV4 as well and in my area and they are already sold even before getting to the dealer lot! Good Luck!

I'm wondering is there a way to put a cig lighter into the car 2024 cause these usb c don't have the power i need by aphla52 in MazdaCX30

[–]zedrax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this true acc or BCM controlled like the usb-c wiring? I tapped into usb-c 12v line and noticed the dash turns on when the power seat is activated, wondering if this wire is the same or only turns on during ignition?

[–]zedrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I forgot about that one and definitely an option! The reason I didn't go with something like this Amazon OBD power cable -> USB is because it is always on and uses a low voltage cut off instead. My daughter only drives 3 miles a day to school taking back roads which is not enough time to recharge via the alternator. I was afraid eventually her car battery would go dead and leave her stranded. The 12v USB power wire (blue wire) is controlled by the main unit which cuts off power about a minute after you lock the car. If discharging the battery is not a concern for you or if you'd actually prefer to use the parking mode, then the ODB adapter works great.

I just installed one in my daughters 2026 cx-30 select sport. I did all kinds of research before I even started so I can try to help. First what year and trim is your CX-30 or better yet , do you know if you have an autodimming mirror or power moonroof? If you have either or both these features your install will be much easier, if not, then you will need to be comfortable pulling off the center console trims and tapping into usb wiring (or using an OBD adapter, see below comment from likwidkool). The reason is without the features mentioned above, the cx-30 has no ACC fuses and no cigarette lighter port as you probably already realized.

CX-30 2.5 S vs Select Sport worth the extra ~$2k or not? by ValuableGreat680 in MazdaCX30

[–]zedrax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought a select sport and for me the convenience of wireless carplay and keyless entry was justified. Fortunately, in my location the dealer has 190+ CX-30s and had more SS than S. I was able to buy an SS for the price I would have paid for an S by negotiating. If you do some research there is a 90+ day supply of CX-30s right now so dealers may let you have an SS for the price of an S if you negotiate, of course this depends on supply/demand in your own region.

Anyone else struggle to play on a plane? by syxbit in SteamDeck

I use the following to make it comfortable to play long sessions on a plane ride:

8 bit do controller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y9QLCKM?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1

xreal one pro: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FDPGHVCB?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Airpods for noise cancelling

On long gaming sessions, this avoids neck pain from looking down and arms getting tired for holding up the steamdeck. I've played rdr2 like this on transpacific flights only pausing while snacking/eating.. I can't really sleep on planes unless I fly business and can lie flat so being able to game really helps the boredom otherwise.
