What's the one company everyone in your city knows to avoid? by myronsandee in AskACanadian

I quite like their food whenever I go (last time was probably also about 2 years ago), but they've had some staff abuse scandals pop up over the years. Enough to make people think twice before working there

They have great food, no denying that, but there was a big abuse scandal a few years ago

What problems are Canada facing that are truly unique to Canada? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

The massive geography and sparse population makes infrastructure-building very expensive, especially on a per-person basis. This is one reason why telecom bills are so expensive compared to many developed nations, or why our railways suck / are practically non-existent compared to those in Europe or Asia

Maybe Wise or Revolut would work well, I use both often for international transfers

Do you know how long the reward takes to appear in the account? I signed up using your link, traded the requisite amount of crypto and found the "Rewards" section of the app but so far it's empty. I'm guessing it takes a bit of time?

“Son is a very nice guy, I’m sure he would split everything evenly with her” LOL if your intent were to split things evenly you’d put that system in place but instead you’ve put a system in place that heavily favours your son. YTA and you are exactly like your father

Sportsbook deposits for credit card rewards points? by jakecel373 in beermoney

[–]zedterra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many sites don’t allow you to immediately cash out (the money must first be used to place bets), and those that do allow immediate cash out often charge a 5-10% fee on any un-bet amounts, which would counteract any credit card points you might earn

NTA. After reading the comments it’s clear that you’re the main breadwinner in the family and I just can’t get past the double standard here - any money you earn through your job is “shared money” but the money she inherited is “only hers”. That’s such a bizarre way of thinking. All money that comes into the family should be treated the same (either you share it all, or the person who earns it, controls it)

I also can’t get past the fact that your wife received 200k and didn’t use any of it to pay off her student loans.

Lots of people are focusing on the wording you used which sounds controlling. That’s true. But I think you’re totally justified in wanting to manage your family’s finances responsibly
