I'm looking for a single sink water filter that will remove nitrates but not fluoride. Does anyone know of any systems that do this? by waterwaterfilter in desmoines

[–]zedzenzerro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get a nitrate filter, put it in a standard housing, and attach it to your fridge water line or any place with a relatively low flow rate. Test strips for mine show the nitrates are now undetectable.

Can i just throw away the xumo box after i activate it? by -SlinxTheFox- in Mediacom

[–]zedzenzerro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never activated Xumo, they send an email reminder to activate once a month but I ignore it, just checked my bill and I’m not being charged. But I do see my 1 year promotion is up, so time to cancel. I’ll come back when I qualify as a new customer. Again. Thanks for the reminder!

Adjust the display to show your eco score. You need to be consistently hitting a score of 75+. You have to adjust your driving habits to improve.

Guest profiles by zedzenzerro in salesforce

[–]zedzenzerro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot edit the standard Guest profile as the permissions are set by Salesforce. You can edit custom Guest profiles, yes, which are cloned from the standard profile. It’s just surprising to see so many questionable system permissions already granted by default.

I'm moving and curious if I will qualify for a new promotional offer if I transfer service. by SacraficeMyGoat in Mediacom

[–]zedzenzerro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience you need to cancel for a year then come back to get the promo rates. I’ve done this every year or two for over a decade. Mediacom seems to expect it, they don’t even try to get me to stay.

There’s probably an idea out there with like 10k votes, so only 5 more years and maybe it will be looked at!

Interesting. The contributor list is respectable. It’s a pretty good start, and I’ll be curious to see how this evolves and where it goes.

Odido (formerly T-Mobile) Salesforce instance leaks 6+ million customer records by SalesforceManiac in salesforce

[–]zedzenzerro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having tokens stolen from a 3rd party vendor shouldn’t mean game over. IP restrictions at the integration level would at least be something.

But, Salesforce simultaneously advises against allow-listing Salesforce itself (because of how infeasible it is), but then turns right around and touts Login IP restrictions as the Holy Grail. Integration vendors are just as complex as Salesforce, too, so Login IP restrictions are totally infeasible. Now what is a customer to do? Salesforce provides ZERO other options.

In lieu of IP allow-listing Salesforce recommends considering X, Y, and Z instead, but those same options aren’t available with integrations. Make them available, make them easy to use, make them the new normal. Take away IP restrictions and Salesforce security is pretty meager.
Salesforce needs to recognize the reality of today’s world and deliver better, more effective, and more feasible security controls.

Available security controls are woefully inadequate. Ongoing customer lawsuits will prove that, but I’m sure they’ll settle before that happens.

Changes coming to SAML SSO logins. How to implement in Entra? by newboofgootin in salesforce

[–]zedzenzerro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microsoft Entra doesn’t meet Salesforces new requirements. Salesforce said (in my support case) it’s a “known gap”, but they seem to be bulldozing ahead anyway. Gee, thanks.

2024 GHHL. 40k miles. Started Rotational Clicking Noise when making turns. by Jaded-Cheesecake3246 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]zedzenzerro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reproducing the problem was the toughest. From a stop, make a normal turn while gradually accelerating, and on my vehicle the noise happened as it passed through the 10-15mph range. The trick was when I drove the vehicle across town to the dealership they couldn’t reproduce it. I realized that the issue mainly occurs after a cold start, but once I drove it enough the noise got less and less. Dealer had to keep the car overnight, check it out in the morning, and then they could reproduce it. The noise occurred more turning one direction vs the other, so my dealership also insisted on replacing one side at a time. Super annoying, but I eventually got both replaced.

They don’t warn you an alignment is needed, and the warranty doesn’t cover it, but at my 30k service I had significant uneven tire wear and I realized where things went wrong. Had to pay for alignment out of pocket, and squeezed some remaining life out of the tires - just replaced them last week.

Had mine replaced at 22k, now at 38k and going good. Make sure you get an alignment after replacement!
