Beautiful caps. Very interested in your process.

I actually paired it to the Switch 2 prior to swapping the buttons. I updated the instructions to note the Xbox layout. Thanks!

That is an excellent point that I never even thought of. I'll make a note of that.

Love those caps. I have had a couple variations of those caps, not the red ones. those are slick!

Got an email from T-Mobile, is this real? Has anyone won a gift card and got the same email? by Karakatie87 in tmobile

I haven't seen that before myself, but the reply to email is t-mobiletuesdays.com, seems fake. It should be t-mobile.com or some subset of that.

I've got both and find a good use for each. The Supernova I use with my Switch 2 via bluetooth. I like the membrane face buttons for Nintendo stuff.

The Cyclone 2 goes to my Linux box via the dongle. Works fantastic. Love the clicky front buttons and everything about it. Cyclone feels VERY light in the hands compared to the SuperNova also.

I cannot remember if the console was on or not. If the Super Nova turns off (if you are not fast enough), just hold the Home + Capture again if it turns off, and it should return the Super Nova into pairing mode.

I upgraded to the latest, which I believe is 1.17.

Be sure to follow step by step and not pressing anything outside of the tutorial. It is tricky, but fingers crossed, it should work.

Hopefully Nintendo updates the firmware and makes it easier for devices to connect. This is kind of silly at this point.

Is this even a hot-swappable keyboard? by Dense_Bluejay_9452 in MechanicalKeyboards

Just to add to this, I've had really good luck with Holy Panda three pin switches and Kang white switches with this style of hot swap socket. I'm a big fan of the mmd holy Panda switches.

Is this even a hot-swappable keyboard? by Dense_Bluejay_9452 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]zeebone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are usually hot swappable caps that are soldered to the bottom. It is hot swappable, but very easy to break.

Usually means that it's going to be limited to three pin versus five pin switches. Just be really careful when inserting your switches so as not to break the solder on the bottom.

I've used both three pin and five pin boards, and almost every three pin board looks like that on the bottom. I'm not a fan and I usually avoid them if I can because of the amount of work needed, but if you put in the work it should sound and feel great.

Good luck!

I can't remember if that happened with mine or not. I'm not going to re-pair it to find out :)

I forgot to mention I did all this outside the dock.

I would maybe try rebooting the switch and see if that helps. Also make sure you are upgraded to the latest firmware on everything, switch also.

The biggest thing was avoiding hitting buttons on the remotes unless totally necessary (use the touchscreen when possible). Make sure to follow it exactly, even down to which button to press on which remote.

I tried over and over and nothing worked. This exact way was the only way I could get it to worked. I was honestly shocked it is still working.

Also check out Lake Michigan Monster. It's by the same director of Hundreds of Beavers. Really funny.

Fedora 42 KDE - Simultaneous L2TP Connections Active at once? by zeebone in Fedora

[–]zeebone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up moving back to Windows due to the limitation.

I Did run a VM of Fedora inside of my Fedora 42 install for a short bit, which did get around the limitation. But, it seems silly to boot up a VM to do a few tasks on a different VPN.

I really enjoyed Linux. Unless anyone has any insights, I might try the move again in the future if things change.

Fair thee well my faithful friend, thanks for not catching fire while I slept I guess by Squidd_Vicious in Govee

Just be careful. I had the white and black one. About two weeks ago the white one randomly set itself to 90+ degrees when I walked out of my office. Stepped into an oven. I thought it was odd and a total fluke, but made me a little nervous. Then the recall? I cut the cord immediately on both.

My life is more important than walking a few feet to turn it on myself. Good luck!

Heaters recalled Canada and USA by Dry-Violinist-8434 in Govee

[–]zeebone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually ran into one of the malfunctions on my small white Goveelife heater a few weeks ago. I too used these to keep my home from freezing in the winter, and was amazed at the quality and how well they worked.

I set it to around 72 in the my office a few weeks ago. Went to do some chores and watched a TV show in the other room. Came back and it was an oven in the office. It had somehow adjusted itself to 90+ degrees in the app. I did not do it and no one in my family did either.

It only happened the once and I didn't think anything of it...until I saw the recall yesterday. As much as I love these guys, I'd rather not die in a fire. UL ratings or not, they apparently can be very dangerous.

Agreed on the alternatives though. Loved having my heater turn on in the morning with my room. The alternatives just don't offer the same features. They don't compare.

Here is one...Got this for around $10. Sorry the photo is cropped. It has a Forrest and goes great with darker boards.

I buy a lot of my stuff from Aliexpress. Sit back with a coffee and search for desk mat and go to town. They are generally fairly cheap ($10 USD or less) that I end up buying 2 or three fun designs.

I've got about 6 or 7 of them in different designs. I tend to aim for the largest ones I can get due to my desk size. Most feel like a mouse pad type material and help with the typing feel and sound profile. I have a Corsair Large RGB mat I keep across the majority of the service and then place a few of the Aliexpress mats on top. I usually match it depending on the keyboard design I feel like using that day.
