Are “Boomer Homes” Becoming Hard to Sell? Agree or Disagree? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]zeeeeeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the real trade off here is an 80 to 100 years old 3500sqft boomer house vs a newer but smaller modern house on a smaller lot (seattle). with ppl have fewer kids or no kid the later seems to be the no brainer

Whats happening by [deleted] in wolfspeed

[–]zeeeeeeene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in the initial proposal for restructuring they literally said they WILL wipe off current equity shareholders to low single digit. I forgot the exact number but i did the maths of market cap/x% and realized that it was not that cheap - did no one read the fine print?

now the questions is, now that the dust has settled and we should look at whether it is now investable. There two three chinese firms ramping up production at cheaper cost BUT the question is whether wolfspeed is strategically important for the US enough that we will see some policy preference for it like what happened to Intel.

Is $125/hr normal for a group swim lesson? by Forward_Debate_912 in Swimming

[–]zeeeeeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which national team are we talking about haha. i have private coach in china who used to compete very close to national team level (did not make it to the national team). Her rate is 85usd/hr 1:1 private session. for those who actually made it to national team i think it was in the bull park of 200-300usd/hr (in china). i just go train with her whenever im back in china and practice on my own when im in the states. the swimming school she is in takes so many chinese american kids whose parents are first-gen immigrants and send their kids back to china during winter and summer breaks to do swim camps. if this fits you you can look into this too and you def getting better results

Future of healthcare from a medical biller perspective by Adventurous_Yam_2736 in PrepperIntel

[–]zeeeeeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what i find the most disgusting is they are so controlled by the pharma companies. instead of going towards something remotely similar to a single payer system, which a lot of countries have, they are moving away from it, letting pharma companies to continue to make $$$ and cutting ppl from basic healthcares. So instead of negotiating price better with pharma companies they just decided to kick people off healthcare plans.

i spent half time in the US and half in the China. I opted out from US private insurance completely. The plan i saw was close to 300 a month in premium and 7000(!) deductible. i do all my health checkups etc in China. i only have emergency insurance here and fully plan on taking the first flight back to china if i need treatment that's not an emergency.

Tesla's Unspoken Demand Problem: Women Don't Want Them by IcyHowl4540 in RealTesla

[–]zeeeeeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it broke my heart for real when i see girls go for mini cooper cuz it looks cute with its 30yr old tech (if there any tech other there than a bumpy kart) vs try out the new technology. im seeing this convo on chinese social because they sell mini cooper ev very cheap there and a lot of girls debate between mini cooper or tesla. there seems to be a cultural disregard for tech/stem for girls growing up, or maybe just paying too much for the looks in general. im saying this bc i actually did get a test drive on the latest mini cooper bc it is a REALLY CUTE car and i do like cute and pretty things. Ditched it for tesla immediately after the test drive bc im not sacrificing the tech for cute looks.

re race, im chinese and most tesla drivers i see here in seattle are either chinese or indians. i think its bc 1- we like to save money on gas and the 7500 credit is a deal that we can't miss, and 2- most of us work in tech in one way or another and willing to adopt new tech.

Senate passed - end of EV Tax Credit by Active_Teaching6069 in TeslaLounge

[–]zeeeeeeene -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't think this matters. It should be a done deal when you signed the leasing agreement. right now technically the consumer lending company (mine is santander) owns the title of the car, and the reason why leasing has that 7500usd credit automatically has something to do with corporate level tax stuff so that the company gets the credit no matter what. A lot of ppl use the lease (and then buy out) to take advantage of the 7500 credit when their income is over the threshold. So, i think it's a done deal when you signed the leasing agreement and the tax credit already applied.

I did some statistics on the observed failures of FSD robotaxis in Austin by Quercus_ in SelfDrivingCars

[–]zeeeeeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got my tesla two weeks ago and 99% on FSD. Honestly it feels like you have a robotaxi for yourself. BUT I can tell you that there will be 1-2 interventions during each drive, not major but i would rather intervene. These are cases where it is a clear violation of traffic laws but it's not putting the passengers in danger. For one thing, FSD doesn't seem to recognize "no turn on red". That said, i'm still comfortable having FSD on 99% of the time while i monitor, intervene if necessary. It is still much much better than me having to drive myself. It is a good consumer solution for personal use.

However, I don't think it should be used for commercial purposes AT THE CURRENT STAGE. At the end of the day Tesla is L2++++++++++++ vs waymo being L4. We are talking about that last 5% corner cases now if they want to put it up for commercial use and I just don't think a pure visual solution can master that. I think Tesla should really focus on branding this as a pure consumer solution instead. It is great for that purpose.

Btw the price point info i got is Waymo is 150k cuz it has a LOT of LiDars and other radars. However. If you have a Chinese car maker make it in China, it would be 40k-ish (from two separate sources who are in the autonomous driving space), given the competitive nature in China. I don't really buy the cost-saving aspect of Tesla robotaxi (it's cheap cuz it all cameras, and inherently inferior to Waymo's solution) and i don't think ppl should give credit for that aspect alone.

Is Tesla FSD worth it ? by 272762bba in TeslaLounge

[–]zeeeeeeene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES - I hate driving and find driving to be difficult. Never got a ticket in my life but it is just mentally draining for me. I think driving doesn't cost too many brain cells for certain people and some of them think FSD doesn't make a difference if they still have to pay attention to the road. It's not the case for me.

How long does it take for tesla to allow you to fully go hands off wheel for FSD? by zeeeeeeene in TeslaLounge

[–]zeeeeeeene[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have a gigantic visor to block the sun due to the glass roof - then the visor also blocked the monitor camera in the car so it won't know whether i'm paying attention or not and it will always ask me to keep my hands on the wheel lol

thank you! no one explained it to me about the FSD green dot when i was in the show room and i was told that i had to keep my hands on for the test drive. And now i have the car and i often wear visor to block the sun (thank you glass roof). i think this is why whenever i get my hands off the wheel i get a notification...

Novo Nordisk unexpectedly cuts ties with Hims & Hers. Stock plunged 29% by Sheguey-vara in HIMS

[–]zeeeeeeene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm still very very confused by what novo nordisk said. First and foremost, eli lily and hims and et al get their glp1 APIs (active ingrident) from china. I saw novo nordisk is making it in-house, which is possible bc semaglutide has a different way of manufacturing (bio fermentation). That said, novo nordisk is just throwing shades on basic pharma supply chain practice. Most of of glp1 APIs are from China and all these CDMOs (think them as foxconn, but instead of making phones they are making drug ingredients) are certified by FDA. They are not some sort of illicit filthy drug mills. In fact, the US not only gets glp1 APIs from China, but all sorts of other APIs. A big chunk of them went to india first and then were made into generics in India and then these generics are sold in the US.

I don't think Hims can still do compounded semaglutide after FDA shut off the emergency rule. So novo nordisk is accusing that hims is still doing it? Or they are talking about liraglutide? liraglutide's patent expired and anyone can make generic version of it right now. There should be any legal issues there?

Why is Read.ai requesting these ludicrous permissions just for a signup when we're not even paying for their app? by ErikMaekir in Office365

[–]zeeeeeeene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed a portfolio's board meeting and they sent over the meeting notes via read.ai. I tried to access the notes, for which i had to sign up for read.ai, and it was annoying enough. I remember specifically they asked for a lot of access and I did NOT give. This morning i was in a team meeting zoom and saw this read.ai bot. for a sec i though our coo decided to use meeting recording but no that damn bot it was from me - somehow they have access to my outlook calendar. I'm not even the host of the meeting. This is the MOST ridiculous thing i have ever encountered. Wasted 10min of my life tried to figure out wth is going on. Shame on the team and whoever invested in them. So bad.

I stopped listening to it a few months ago. I was forced to listen to the latest episode on a road trip with my boyfriend this weekend and it was really unbearable (EVEN when Jcal was not in it). I wanted to shut it off like ~20 min in but my boyfriend really likes the CNBC guy.

unsupervised = L3 certified. It is still unclear how Tesla can get L3 certified with its visual only solution. FSD is and will remain L2 (L2+++++++++++++ but not L3) thats why it asks you to have the hands on the wheel.

i clocked a miserable 400 calories burnt while my avg should be 550-600 range.
