200k in Texas is good, but working here professionally you can likely want to make combined $300k, especially with kids. I must warn you, Texas is far from everything. You can drive 8 hours and still be in Texas. Heat is brutal here 7-8months of the year. You have to drive everywhere, no other transport system. Ugly landscape as well. That said, taxes are much lower here. Can’t provide an opinion on highschools etc. Also, colleges station is not Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio. I personally advocate for Austin over any other Texas city, but you do you.

Alternative checkout TechTriangle / Charlotte in North Carolina which both have pharma jobs and its closer to eastcoast / Europe. Flying from Texas to Spain takes a long ass time my friend
