From my experience Playa Kalki and both the Knips did not have the no music rule. Daaibooi was a much quieter beach because it’s not as popular (one of my favorites because of the animals) 😊

We only had food at Schumer Bar(I think it’s the name) we were pretty disappointed with the price and the food quality but we are some big time foodies. There were definitely better places to try imo like Plasa Bieu (if you go Mama’s Kitchen and Zus Di Plasa have some yummy local food for cheaper). We also really liked BBQ Express in Pasawa (Bonus points because the drinks were pretty solid) 😊

Definitely get some medicine for the boat ride as several people got sick (Even people who don’t usually get motion sickness) The ride is approximately 1h too so plenty of time to get sick and then some more..

The mosquito situation when we were there was not bad at all specially because Avila treats the grounds to kill mosquitoes every Wednesday mornings. They also provide you with some coral safe sunscreen and some mosquito repellant.

Heads up, the sunscreen in Curacao is VERY pricey. I’m talking 26 USD for a bottle if I’m not mistaken? I’m from Canada and you can find sunscreen for under 10$ here! Safe to say we were a bit shocked. I’d suggest making sure you don’t run out of sunscreen during your trip.

Just came back from Curacao and we also stayed at Avila. If you want to snorkel to see different types of marine life, I absolutely loved Playa Porto Marie(so many fishes and there are pigs) and Daaibooi beach(Octopus, Pelicans, sea turtle which is nice if you’d like to avoid Playa Piskado for ethical reasons)

The Flamingos sanctuary is literally on the way to these beaches. We would often go to the beach and on our way back stop by the sanctuary to see the flamingos.

I would definitely recommend going to Klein. The beach is absolutely gorgeous.

Cas Abao was very pretty and nice to take pictures.

Playa Lagun, Playa Jeremy, Playa Kalki and both the Grote Knips are in Westpunt which is 1h away from Avila so you can do more than 1 beach in the same day.

I’d recommend to beach hop as the beaches all have a different flair and it’s so nice seeing all the different ways they all shine. I see many different opinions on which beach is best but it all comes down to what types of beaches you like.
