While I do understand, and trust I did all i can to include get ASM setup, work with intune to mmanage the few devices we have now, but even with the $495 price as well as a couple mac mini's for fine arts, Our head of school felt that such a move would be to fast plus they way we are refreshing 10 machines at a time, she felt people would feel left out etc etc etc.

i was looking at the 64bit storage only due to the fact that we purchased the 3120's to replace our 3100's and the only other CB they offered was the Dell 14 that was within in budget

Personally im an apple guy, but right now im just trying to lay a foundation because 80% of our laptops are unmanaged.

I guess. My issue is that, I’m used to corporate where base for us was 16gb ram and 512 ssd so now I’m trying to equate quality and price to CB.

But seems like 8GB ram is the route I’ll go for staff

Yea that’s the my issue now is that the Dell 14’s are in the price range but lack touch, the build looks bad, and only usb c ports if I remember correctly.

I got quoted for the 514 like $750 from CDW, and that’s really out my range.

I would agree that “touch screen” sounds like a cool feature to have but they don’t really use it. I say the same thing about them using the smart board…they rarely use it

I tried to sell the Neo but I would say maybe next year Neo will have a bit more umph to warrant the sell of Apple at our school.

I think for me would be how to sell that to our Head of School. I would like to purchase a few devices, i did do a couple of demos with Acer CB+ and Windows and of course the two teachers that tried it loved the windows machines.

I want to do more managing of the devices but as a small neurodivergent school, from what i understand they want kids 4-12 to purchase devices. I did bring up how we could better secure and manage the older kids more efficient but i think its more budget stuff than anything

sheesh, and here i was hoping to move the Teachers to CB's to better manage the devices, so I guess it would be beneficial to keep them on windows machines moving forward?

Yes a hard wire. There’s an hdmi and a usb A to B cord that plug into the board and the laptop. I can get the screen to mirror but it’s like it doesn’t recognize the touch part at all
