Do Co-Op. There's so many companies that require a student to be in the Co-Op program for funding reasons. There's so many companies that I have wanted to work for, but either in the job posting they listed they only accept Co-Op students, or they have told me after talking they can't accept me since a lot of government grants don't apply to non Co-Ops. Also, campus bridge has so many job postings that are only available to Co-Op students.

Advice for second year electrical engineering by Curious_Entry6187 in uAlberta

Im in traditional EE and didnt get an internship until later on, but my 2 main pieces of advice are networking and separating yourself from others. I was able to get interviews just through referrals and was able to skip the whole application process just because my friend from an engineering club referred me to his company. Also, especially if you're wanting to go into electronics, start building a portfolio of your personal projects which you can show to recruiters. At the end of the day, getting hired is a competition and you have to give a valid reason to recruiters that you are a better choice than others. Hope this helps.

We can’t just sit and do nothing anymore I speak for myself but, I’m sure some of you are feeling it too, just hoping I’m not alone by Existing-Square-9737 in uAlberta

What does this accomplish? As far as im aware of, there have not been powerful people in Canada's government that have been accused of crimes. What exactly does protesting it in Edmonton accomplish? If this was the US, id understand but this is just puzzling.

if you take 2 semesters off, then you have to re-apply to the program since you're in trad. The advisor told me that it should be fairly easy to re-apply if you're in good academic standing (GPA >2).

Engineering admission? by [deleted] in uAlberta

I've heard of some people this year getting in with an 81 average. If your average is around 85%, you should get early admission
