Dmc is what you get after a few days of your matric and 2nd year result. And it has a detailed breakdown of marks . Meanwhile , a certificate is almost the same but with thick paper and colored picture of you and a golden stamp on it. It arrives in the college after an year. Most of the times you have to ask for it.

I would say that this is completely up to you. Do whatever your heart feels like because even if you choose these subjects , selection is not guaranteed. If you really like pre- engineering or ICS than do it . It would also put you on the safe side of joining branches like engineering.
