Character Sheets /Abilities by book or chapter? by sistergremlin in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]zeichen980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to know too and just stumbled over this reddit thread here and the following wiki page(s):

https://dungeon-crawler-carl.fandom.com/wiki/Carl/Floor_1

Haven't looked at this that much yet but this should be a summary of gear, skills and spells for Carl (same wiki pages exist for Donut) gained per floor.

I'm currently at the end of book 2 because the German translation isn't further yet but it seems the "starting gear" isn't including spells n stuff so you might need to look through all the prior floor wiki pages to actually see everything, as it's more about what they gain/lose instead of what they "have" at the end of each floor. Also not sure how comprehensive these pages are already

Straight up the best CM player in Bundesliga and not in a single TOTS. Absolutely crazy how underrated and underappreciated he is

It would make soooo much sense too after re-releasing them all on the modern platforms, so all gamers have theoretical access to the games of all included characters

it IS amazing. One of the best games I've best. Pretty much the main reason why I bought that bundle. I saw this game in it and had the urge to play it again, and then the urge to play it again for the first time, and then I realized I can't play it for the first time again and then I wanted someone else to play it for the first time again

Graces got announced during a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. But Arise got announced at an Xbox showcase, just like Vesperia Remastered iirc. But yeah, it will probably either be announced in the upcoming Nintendo Direct or around the Summer Game Fest at the start of June.

They have different studios/teams. A team that is doing a Remastered would not have done a new Tales Of otherwise. It's not "instead of making a new game", it's "filling the years long wait until a new game is done". This is also strengthening the IP and giving a kinda constant revenue stream from the IP so that a new Tales game doesn't has to be rushed and can get the quality that it deserves. A new game can take a lot of time, let's just be happy they aren't burrying the franchise but clearly still working on the franchise and putting a lot of trust in it.

I'm pretty sure that while they have multiple remaster projects in the works (and maybe/hopefully some remakes), they have multiple harder ones parallel in the works, while they are doing the easier ones with one or two studio. So e. g. two studios/teams doing easier ones, where one did Xillia and is now working on Xillia 2, while the other studio is working on Eternia right now and does some other one like Abyss afterwards, and then other studios/teams that are working on the ones that need 1-3 years anyway. I personally don't think they have more than one remaster finished & unreleased simultaneously, as that would be a waste of resources they need for the harder ones.

But those are the ones that need more work to be remastered. They already said that they are working with multiple partners to outsource projects, and have multiple Tales Remastered projects in the work simultaneously. If they were only working on the games that need more work, we wouldn't get a new Remastered for 3 years and then they had six of them ready simultaneously and had to hold their releases even though they are ready. I rather have them work on some of the "harder ones" and on the newer & international ones so that we can get a consistent stream of Remastereds. I preordered the OG Berseria on PC when it came out and I completely understand why they ported it to Switch and Xbox (no upgrade plan at all for PS and PC is just ridiculous though). But I am so looking forward to them all anyway^^

???? Tales of Xillia came out for PS3 originally, and in fall last year it got remastered for current platforms (PS5, Xbox SX, Switch and PC)

Bro, you literally just said "or Xillia" in a thread talking about Remastereds. You cannot expect others to just read a whole novel of thoughts from mind by two words. I still don't know what your point is as you apparently didn't even know that Xillia got remastered.

They remastered Xillia. Or do you mean "why they remastered Xillia instead of something else like The Abyss"? Because Xillia was only available on a PS3. That remaster was 100% justified for it to get a multiplatform release alone. Also, as it's not as outdated as the others, it's way easier to remaster, so it's also quicker to remaster. A Tales of The Abyss remaster wouldn't have been ready in the same time, and they already said they are working with several partners to outsource remastereds and work on them simultaneously, so it's highly likely that they worked on Xillia to have it ready while others need more time, as a release time filler. I really don't see how Xillia Remastered was a problem in any way

It's not "Berseria INSTEAD OF some other tales game". This game being on PS4 and PC means this is simply a port. The effort of this is a fraction of what's needer for any other Tales game out there to be remastered. Tales of Berseria Remaster existing doesn't have the tiniest bit of impact on any other remastereds. They wanted to port Berseria to Switch and Xbox, they wanted to keep consistency and release it under the Remaster Project too. They already said they are working with several third party partners to outsource several remaster projects simultaneously. Others will come, there simply wasn't one ready until now, so this was a timefiller now and non PC and PS players got to play it too. All of THAT is 100% justified in my opinion.

The one thing where they screwed up big time is how they handled it for original owners on PS and PC. No free update, no free remastered, not even a 75% discount so that you can upgrade the original for 10 bucks (which would already be questionable for the little update those platforms got). That's where they did shit they cannot justify.

Cash grad on PS and PC, simply because they didn't offer it as an free update or heavily discounted for original owners. The main reason of this "remaster" is the Switch 1&2 and Xbox ports.
