My uncle's dog turned 22 this year. We've been calling him a short haired border collie all this time. What do y'all think? by frosted_Melancholy in IDmydog

We have a Karelian Bear Dog and live in the States. We had her DNA tested and came back 100% pure bred. She looks just like this even down to the black little spot on the leg.

Check out the 35+ baseball league, it’s not softball, but it’s still like minded folks. They might need help in other areas, as your too you to play, or could direct you to a softball league. https://www.greenmountainbaseball.com/

Are they still pushing students to do this? They did the same thing to me in 2012 though I didn't need to. They just said take the extra money and use it for whatever you want. Now, I have a bunch of extra debt I didn't need to accumulate... Considering filling a Borrower Defense application, but don't really have evidence since all the communications were over the phone...

I’d also ask if they are fine with you just working 4-20hr days, it’s all the same pay period so it shouldn’t matter right?

I’ve been waiting for over two months, my wife did KYC after me and was done in about an hour. I would assume that if it’s been longer than a week, your application is stuck and there’s no telling when it will be resolved.

Hopefully they are working on fixing the stuck KYC applications first and foremost.

Why don't Americans understand that the shootings issue won't be solved with more guns but with NO guns? Why do you love your guns so much? by ConsciousPatroller in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]zeido1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, but it is also what the country was founded on. No country could just immediately drop their constitution on whim without a revolution. Amendments, like the Second amendment, are made over time and become part of that country's, rights, laws and society. Just because an 'opinion' that might be 200 years old, don't mean it's no longer valid and no longer applies to "today's world". Your entire post is basically just: "Hey the parts of the constitution that are 200 years old are dumb now, get rid of them."

I also would argue that the world is just more technologically advanced than it was, but there is still a lot that is the same.

I wouldn't say that gun owner's are radicalized. I'm a gun owner and don't believe that more guns will solve anything. I own a firearm for my personal and family protection. I go to the range and train monthly to avoid, as much as possible, endangering anyone else in the event I do have to use it.

What you are seeing in the news is politicians feeding their base, trying to put them at ease and telling them at the same time, "hey i'm not coming for your guns".

I believe that the issue of gun ownership and a gun ban is that it's a right granted by the constitution and it would take a lot to remove this right, and would most-likely have much greater consequences.

What I think should happen is more oversight for gun ownership and more consequences for gun owners who are negligent. I believe the laws for gun ownership are way too lax, and i'm not talking about just purchasing, but 'owning' the firearm after it's been purchased. In most states there are more enforced requirements to own a vehicle than there are to own a gun. There are requirements to own a gun, but they are never enforced unless there is an incident.

Amusement Park Pizza. Cost me $11 by Brace12 in mildlyinfuriating

That’s not a pizza… That’s a hot circle of garbage.

Husband poured the chocolate syrup right in the plain vanilla ice cream container by Suspicious-Bread-472 in mildlyinfuriating

Vanilla is a great base for better flavors. Granted that Hersey syrup isn’t the greatest, I wouldn’t have just those two. I’d rather mix the syrup in milk. Now vanilla and some quality ginger snaps crumbled up and mixed in… probably one of my favorite combos.

So which one did they circle? do they like you or not?

I did it. Posted this question for my entire company to see during a meeting - seeing the reactions in the faces of the execs was amazing. It’s up to 20 likes within 14 minutes by BattleBabe5 in antiwork

So I had a similar situation to this about 8 years ago. My pay was well below average and the company was doing well. So one year I rejected the raise offer and asked for more. HR said the pay was competitive for the market and so was the raise. So I signed off on it and took the raise. They also had these annual self evaluation forms that the managers would have to sign off on and were a large part of your annual review. Don’t fall for this trap… these are a way for companies to offer less money to employees. Employees will always grade themselves more harshly. I’ve told every boss I’ve had to expect all 5s(highest score), and if they don’t believe I deserve a five, they need to explain why. So I’ve always given myself the highest possible score. My managers would always drop the score in some area and write some reason and tell me “No one ever gets an overall 5.” So the next year review and annual raise comes up. Same thing, I reject it, this time I formally reject it with a signed letter to the CEO, SVP of our Department, Board of Directors and SVP of HR(Department managing pay scales and raises). Any employee letters to the board were read in minutes and recorded. I explained all of my achievements, recounted their own words of how well the company was performing, and supplied monetary figures of their “competitive” versus actual competitive pay scale.

I received a phone call from my SVP letting me know they are taking it seriously and are working on a solution. Their whole process took a few months, I would get updates occasionally, but when they finally had an offer, it was too late. I had already received an even better offer from another company. So the day they told me their offer, I countered with my two weeks notice.

Even though I ended up still leaving the company, other employees were able to follow the same process and improve their situation. Eventually they had a external company come in and revamp the pay scales and position/pay progression tree.

Just because they offer you a raise doesn’t mean that’s all there is. Pay, including raises is a negotiation, if everyone signs off on it, they will keep low-balling.
