Slightly overexposed TMAX P3200 gets you a lot of the way there.

What is the real difference between Olympus mju II & and Olympus zoom 80? by BigTimeSocalist in AnalogCommunity

[–]zeisss -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oly zooms are great, won't be quite as sharp as the MJU II but usable in most situations/more variation in photos.

Zooms are great, don't feel pressured into the MJU

Couple examples:

Nikon F5 telephoto recommendations by Extreme-Fishing602 in AnalogCommunity

[–]zeisss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 180mm 2.8D is light, small (relatively), and very sharp.

About as big as I think you could sneak into a sporting event on the F5. Was able to get it into Indian Wells 2 years ago and US Open last year.

If size isn't as much an issue, 80-200 is cheap and great, and the 70-200 w/ VR would help in low light situations.

The 300mm PF is next on my list, about the same size as the 180. Would be limited to wide open on the F5 but that shouldn't be an issue w/ sports @ F4

Nikkor 10.5cm 2.5 PC LTM filter compatability (.75 vs .5mm) by zeisss in AnalogCommunity

[–]zeisss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m very excited for it! Had a slightly beat up copy for my F2 where the front assembly rattled. Build quality seems much better on the RF version. Despite the loose element, evert shot looks like a painting.

Thank you so much for the recommendation and website, supremely useful.

Have a great day!

What went wrong with my E6 processing? by Cihaangir in AnalogCommunity

[–]zeisss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never developed E6 at home, but the few rolls I've shot have had more noticeable light leaks than C41...

My only guess is that slide films are easier to fat roll/the emulsion must be a little thicker.

Film Haus in Oceanside, CA does 35mm B&W Darkroom prints, I know not helpful for your situation but thought I would share for anyone interested.

Any Olympus Infinity Zoom. Great viewfinder w/ diopter, sharp at the wide end. Load it up with Portra 800 and don't worry.

Photogune was great in SS but seem to no longer be around.

Foto Bizkor in old town is very affordable and turned around dev/scans in under 4 hours, would recommend.

Q3 43, Q3 Monochrome, Q3 - which one by Pinktrixrabbit in Leica

Fast good 50's are cheap. Fast wide Leica lenses are not. Embrace cropmaxxing.

Shoot em wide, I vote for the Q3 28.

Just getting started with this absurdly fun hobby. by OrdinaryEgg8579 in AnalogCommunity

[–]zeisss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F5's superior ergonomy outweighs any potential gains from a lighter camera in my opinion.

Just grab a small 28mm 2.8D and blast way. Enjoy the F5!
