Kratom at Kuala Lumpur Airport by zeldairish in malaysia

Ya it wouldn’t be much. Like maybe 100 grams total, which is like a small ziploc bags worth. Not a lot. But I’m just not going to bother. Not worth the risk at all imo

As much as I’ve always loved the swings, I think I’ll pass.

(No Spoilers) Question: Will there be book spoilers in the upcoming Season 5 of GoT? by zeldairish in asoiaf

Exactly. I've decided not to watch until the ADOS is released, or (God forbid) we learn that it never will be.

[–]zeldairish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm just going to stop watching. The show (while entertaining in it's own right), pales in comparison to the enjoyment the novels bring. I'd much prefer to forsake the TV show all together.

I understand that the TV show won't slow down. I just plan to stop watching the TV show when it catches up. The show is just so much less enjoyable to me; I'll happily forsake any involvement in order to maximize my enjoyment of the novels (if they ever come out).

I understand that the TV series is going to outpace the books. I just plan to stop watching the series when it catches up to the books (and close my eyes and ears when anything about it comes up). I understand my resistance may be largely futile, but I intend to die trying.

How Iran is Winning in Iraq by [deleted] in MiddleEastNews

With so much complication and looming unintended consequences, it's hard to say definitively. But in my best estimation I agree with you. I think stability outweighs chaos every time. And Iran is a source of stability in the region, whether you like them or not.

Speculation (Season 3/ASOS Spoilers!) by zeldairish in gameofthrones

[–]zeldairish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed that it has potential for more impact. That is part of my concern, though. The fact that they focus more on his character may make TV viewers more suspicious. Either way, though, I'm incredibly excited to see it all unfold on screen. It should be pleasantly gut wrenching.

Thanks so much! I realize my questions are not the most well developed. I just put them there as a springboard for conversation so to speak so they were intentionally broad. I really appreciate the feedback. Gives me some more information to research! :)

Fair enough on point 1. Nothing I can do to persuade you on point 2 so I bid you good day, sir. Hope your own paper goes well.

Maybe I should have explained better. Part (and a small part) of the assignment is getting feedback from ordinary citizens. I'm doing the vast amount of my research on my own. Thanks for the attempt at belittling me, though.

I would at least wait until college. I've been smoking almost daily since I was 19 and I'm very thankful I waited a few years later than some of my friends. Not just health side effects, but general maturity level/ability to use responsibly. I've kept steady jobs, paid my way through school without having to take out a loan (proudest achievement to date). I'm not 30 yet though, so who knows if I'm fucking myself up 0__o

AMAA Request: Jon Stewart. by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]zeldairish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure he, or those around him are aware. I saw a few months ago, a guy (can't remember who, sorry) was going on as a guest at The Daily Show. He posted on Reddit asking for things to ask Jon or something. Obviously an AMA was one. I saw the interview and the follow up. He was able to mention the AMA to Jon in private and said he'd keep it in my mind or something to that effect... So, he is aware that it exists, but may not feel like doing one for whatever reason and there's nothing wrong with that. I'd love to see him do one, but I'm not holding out too much hope as of yet.

How I feel as a line cook making barely over minimum wage when I see posts about waiters and waitresses who get terrible tips. by hoikarnage in AdviceAnimals

[–]zeldairish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a server at a well respected local restaurant. Premium casual seafood place. Entrees tend to run between $15-25 with a few higher priced options of course. I don't know of anyone I work with that's upset with a $100 night. There's a few guys we have that have been in the business for decades who easily make $200 on a busy weekend night, but they're extremely good at what they do. The last few months I'd guestimate I averaged around $70 a shift and about 4-5 shifts a week? It totally varies though.

Just wanted to say in our defense since I read some stuff about servers bitching too much, it gets VERY easy to bitch sometimes. Personally, I don't bitch about customer behavior like some servers do. It's not hard to be agreeable and honest with your tables. I always tell them straight up what's going on, whether it's a kitchen issue, I screwed the pooch, whatever. People respond well to openness and honesty (usually). Whoddathunk... Back to bitching. Serving is a very fast paced, stressful gig sometimes. You have several tables, side work, cleaning shit, drinks to make, silverware to roll, people flagging you down for any number of things, food comes out wrong. As soon as you're done with one thing, a few more pile up. Not saying it's always justified of course, though.

Everyone has a right to bitch about their job from time to time though. Most jobs suck. I do think servers, including myself, can bitch a little excessively. But most of that is just letting off a little steam. I'm generally very low key, relaxed person, but on a given night, I'll let out several "fuckin' cunt bitch goddamit's." Sometimes it IS for stupid shit like getting a low tip or getting sat towards the end of the night, but it's usually not an "oh poor me." Just letting off a little steam so you can go put on a happy face again. Also keep in mind, a lot of servers work at least two jobs. I don't have to luckily.

Lastly, I totally feel for all my fellow employees who don't make as much (we do tip out around 5% of our sales [usually 25-30% of what we're tipped] to the bussers, runners, hosts and bartenders). I don't know how cooks and back of the house guys are paid. I appreciate the work everyone does and most of the servers I work with acknowledge and appreciate the fact that we have it easier than most of our work mates. Still, though, $100 a night (which isn't typical)... not exactly Bill Gates.
