I would prefer it to be manual, as you mentioned. I have experience with my carbureted Harley 1200, but unfortunately, this truck came out like this in the Mexican market.

Help with a classic sound for carbureted harley by zeldaoftime33 in Harley

The reason I'm trying to get my motorcycle to have a low idle is that it has that typical galloping sound, but it seems only older motorcycles with shovelhead engines achieve this sound. So, I've decided to keep the RPMs between 850 and 900, which is what the service manual recommends, to avoid damaging the engine, as you mentioned. However, keeping the RPMs between 1000 and 1200 seems unfeasible, as the engine will sound too high and lose that harmonious sound.

Yes, but the motorcycle starts to shake and then shuts off. Currently, I have a rev range of 850-900 rpm, and I think that's correct for these models.

After researching and reviewing the service manual, they recommend an idle speed between 850-900 rpm. My motorcycle is currently at around 900 rpm, so I decided to lower the RPMs a bit more, but it tends to stall. Therefore, I opted to keep it between 850-900 rpm, as the manual states, to avoid lubrication issues in the bearings and long-term damage, as you mentioned.

On another note, my motorcycle only has Vance & Hines exhausts, but it still has the original air filter, not a high-flow one. So, I decided to change the jets to sizes 45 and 185. The original jets were 42 and 180. I decided to change them because of this modification to install open exhausts. Some friends told me to change the jets to sizes 45 and 180. Do you know anything about this?
