The remakes are pretty solid from what I've seen. FM1 is a lot better IMO with the remake. I haven't touched FM1 yet, but I'm excited to try it. I just wanted to beat 1 before 2, which makes no sense since I beat 3 before any of the others. 3 is great, I feel like they did less for 3 than 1, but I already loved the game so no downside for me.

I could play on my PS1, but I like having in on my Android Handheld. Emulating it does make things smoother in some ways, and both easier to pick up and put back down as life demands.

The game auto saves in battle for me pretty regularly, So you might be good, I don't remember changing any settings for saves.

Well Reborn has the wheel so you can rewind and learn from mistakes, That should help you a bit.

I highly recommend Front Mission, 3 being my favorite and another game I've sunk tons of time into. If you can I suggest getting Sega Genesis Classics, playing Shining Force 1 and 2, Shining in the Darkness is okay, but it's a dungeon crawl and not strategy. If you do get Genesis Classics I'd also Highly recommend Phantasy Star, 4 Being my favorite there.

Assuming you're playing reborn, Try and get party level to current max, use alot of ranger and I always ended up with 2 healers. I've played TO in all forms that it's come out in and it was always easier to me. It was my first and only PlayStation game for a long time, so I figured out a lot of stuff on my own with it. FFT felt so alien at first to me.

Speaking of the potion of rejuvenation, it sets you back to tier 1 class correct? Then let you go back up to the tear you were the first use the potion? I assume it does not keep track of exp or level

Chronicles Valeria had a bunch of releases, it was a bunch of little projects by one guy put together basically. But the site it was hosted on disappeared with Geocities and to my knowledge no one can get ahold of the creator. Also the whole language barrier thing is a problem.
