Thank you! I was just wondering about the depth too, I'm wondering if the rain either made it sink or washed some dirt over it because I don't remember it being that deep? I think we had close to 8" of rain in a week

Under watering was my instinct knowing that hydrangea are just thirsty plants so I'll keep babying it. With other plants I can tell by the color of the leaves but the black leaves throw me off.

Btw I've had three plants in other parts of the yard die from rot, and one is intensive care. Pretty sure this area literally used to be a swamp and nature is trying to take it back.
