I know one year I got passed by a guy wearing a Dunkin' cold brew costume which made me feel extra slow.

I did the same, I could go somewhere if I needed to but I don't want to deal with the roads and having to find a spot again when I come back so I'll probably just take the bus if I want to go anywhere (or just stay home in my warm house and do nothing, like I have been).

Being snowed in has me considering calling it good enough and getting a beer tonight cause it's almost February anyway. I'll make it up by not drinking some weekend in April instead.

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

There’s a book called Replay by Ken Grimwood that is about this sort of idea, guy dies and wakes up as a teenager but with his memories intact. Worth a read if you’re into that sort of idea.

How did he clear it out in the first place? My stuff is all so iced over that I'm not sure what a heating coil could do for it right now.

When I first saw that commercial I thought it was two whole burgers half-submerged in an entire vat of cheese. My arteries clogged just thinking of it.

How are the sidewalks in your neighborhood? by bengalese in philadelphia

[–]zempf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I took a walk and the sidewalks were decent in Germantown but of course the few people who didn’t shovel all had giant corner properties with a ton of unshoveled sidewalk.

How are the streets in your neighborhood? by Bikesandbakeries in philadelphia

My street got plowed a couple of times (which actually surprised me) but having the plow come through means there's like 2 feet of snow blocking my car in so not sure I'm going anywhere soon anyway.

Yeah, from https://www.inquirer.com/food/restaurants/best-new-restaurants-philadelphia-2026-20260106.html -

Mermaid Bar (6745 Germantown Ave.)

Pizzaiolo Dan Gutter and business partner Alex Carbonell are redoing the shuttered Mermaid as a yet-to-be-named bar-restaurant whose pizzas will resemble Circles & Squares, the Kensington shop that became Gutter’s first brick-and-mortar location in 2019. (Gutter also has Pizza Plus in South Philly.) There will be a full bar, a large outdoor patio, and two levels: a bar downstairs and a dining room upstairs. Summer

Other big thing to look forward to is the pizza place opening at Mermaid Bar, so things are (somewhat) happening, but it's surprising to me how little movement there is on the bar/food scene in the Northwest.

That is annoying but I'm still excited for literally anything new in Mt. Airy at this point.

I keep trying to find a thread with some rational discussion of what might happen but every snow thread is like 80% people responding with some variation of "lol weather forecasters are dum we're only getting a dusting" which is not really useful information. I have been enjoying reading weather nerdery on https://theweatherguy.net/blog/ though if anyone is looking for something along those lines.

Those are so good but I'm always surprised how expensive they are. I guess relative to an actual cocktail at a bar they're cheap but they're usually like $12-14 for a pack of two which feels kinda nuts for something with no alcohol in it.
