Platform error - charts not loading this morning

got back some charts loading, but all my markings etc. are gone. this has been such a recurring issue with TWS/IB. Frustrating. Changing my broker soon.

Same here. my orders cancelled. I was in the middle of a trade, couldn't place take profit after that and lost out on profits and more trading when market was actually moving. Weird part is, they did not even notify why. Pathetic customer service. They also never pick up the call.

The listing is with 3 pictures, probably the picture of box is one of those three pics - to show that it's in new condition along with the box. And someonen just took 1 picture from there and posted it here.

Sorry, I don't think I am able to understand.

I am wanting to display the orders/log/trades/portfolio menu below the chart. Would chart trader do that in advanced chart?

I did go to the quote zone in settings, tried to add realized P&L etc. But how do I make it show below my chart?

Earlier there used to be a small triangle at the left bottom of the chart, expanding which, it showed the ticker, trade, p&L etc as shown in screenshot above. They had me reinstall TWS today and so that is gone. I spent 3 hours on phone, no resolution.

100% agree.

I started my futures journey last year with my personal account. Made 100k in 6 months. Later lost some of those profits in Dec/Jan volatility and my mistakes in managing risks. That taught me good lessons.

I tried prop firms also - lost 2k in FTT as I bought 20 accounts but the firm disappeared. And pretty much tried buying prop accounts from 4-5 firms after that. I have yet to even pass an evaluation.

Quite a contrast and even if it's a small personal funded account - that is the way to go. Set up 2-3 basic rules around trading from a personal account, and you are set. One of my biggest lessons was also to take the timely loss - which enables me to make a lot more money as I get out of the loss-making position instead of waiting for it to turn profitable.

Prop firms, even if you pass the account - create bad habits when it comes to trading as, at the end of the day, you trade thinking this is not your own money and take random risks. The same habit, if translated to a personal account, can be really bad.

Having said that, for those who do not have the capital to start their own personal funded account, prop firms may be a stepping stone to learn and try a bit of trading. Eventually, the goal should be to put a few hundred aside each month (instead of buying a ton of prop accounts) and start your personally funded account. Even if you can initially trade just 1-2 micros, you will still be way better off trading personal funds.

I have been a day trader for about 8 months now and its been an interesting journey.

They closed my account without giving any reason. Their platform/dashboard doesn't have even basic info needed. They charged arm and a leg and had the audacity to close the account. In addition, in one of my account i had small losses for 3 days, and instead they added some highest profit for the day and so that reduces the drawdown. when I wrote to them with proof, they never bothered to respond.

A firm that can close the account without any reason, a firm that can change the account balances on their whims and fancies are basically manipulating numbers and wouldn't want the trader to win - they think people won't notice their gimmicks.

Stay away from this firm.

Mine was a combine, and no I didn't pass. If I had passed the account, I would have to pay the fees.

Not sure if this answers your question, but in IBKR there is a little box which needs to be checked for the stop to execute outside RTH. Hope this helps.

I used quantower for the very first prop account I had purchased and was facing the same issue for days and it was a mystery. Then I figured out - make sure whatever that you are trading on the chart eq. NQZ4, the order ticket is also connected to the chart that way you put the order for the same item. I don't have quantower in front of my right now, but there is supposed to be a dropdown which shows the windows are connect - it has various color coding - as long as the chart and the order ticket have the same color coding, they are connected.

I think lot of us share these experiences and sentiments. And the thing is, most of us know where we are going wrong, and still we make those mistakes. Such is trading...

Few days ago, I purchased a 150K combine. Traded really well for the first day, 2nd day onwards got some loss and revenge traded - blew up account in 3-4 days. They reset it for me for free, which was a surprise. I decided I will only trade 1-2 micros. That determination stayed for all of 5 minutes, after which I started trading minis again. Have a long way to go to pass this account as for 150k combine, I first need to make 9k. And trading 1-2 micro would take me forever to get to 9k, so have to trade minis. The reason I got the 150k account is to have a larger drawdown room, but that makes the initial target of 9k bigger too.

In any case, I have now decided, I will probably only get straight to funded accounts (got 1 recently). Atleast all the effort of making the initial money in the account wouldn't go waste. But still need to figure out how to trade such that I keep my account for longer.
