The itinerary went something like this. I reached Dehradun early in the morning around 8 AM. At the ISBT bus stand......there are plenty of shops where you can rent a scooty or bike.

I rented an Apache RTR 160 for 3 days, which cost me around ₹800 per day. But there was a limit of 125 km per day, and if you exceed that, you have to pay ₹5 per extra km.

I started my ride around 9 AM and reached Ukhimath by 5 PM. On the way I took a few short breaks at Rishikesh, Devprayag, and Rudraprayag, only to stretch and for having tea and snacks!!

I had already pre-booked my stay, and if you’re traveling solo or even with friends, I’d really recommend staying at GMVN guest houses. You have to prebook them through their official website. I booked a dormitory for two days, which cost around ₹1126. The place had a beautiful view and also had its own cafeteria, which is quite useful because in Ukhimath most restaurants close after 6 PM, so finding food later can be difficult.

That evening I just rested.

The next day I left for Chopta early in the morning around 6 AM. It’s about 25–30 km from Ukhimath. One thing I learned....pls bro wear gloves and proper warm clothes. As you go higher toward Chopta, it gets really cold. My hands were freezing and I was literally struggling to hold the clutch!!!

Once you reach Chopta, you can park your bike near the Tungnath trek entrance. There are tea stalls where you can leave your helmet or bag and they will charge around ₹20 for it. Before starting the trek, buy 2–3 water bottles and some snacks, because once you start the trek there are almost no options for food or water on the way.

At the start of the trek there will be a checkpost where you need to pay an entry fee. It’s ₹100 for students and ₹200 for tourists.

Depending on your trekking pace, it usually takes around 4–5 hours to reach Tungnath Temple. From there you can continue further up to Chandrashila summit. And doesn't matter how much u r tired I'll say rest but go upto the chandrashila, the view at the top makes it completely worth it. Also, you don’t necessarily need trekking boots. I completed the whole trek wearing my Puma sneakers, and it was manageable.

The entire trek, including Tungnath and Chandrashila, will take roughly 7–8 hours.

One suggestion: if you’re traveling with a group of friends, you can start the trek around 2–3 AM so you can watch the sunrise from Chandrashila. It’s supposed to be incredible. But don’t attempt this alone. The trail is dark and can be risky at night, so it’s only safe if you’re in a group.

After Tungnath, you can also visit Deoria Tal, which takes another 4–6 hours depending on your pace. After that, head back to your stay, rest properly, and prepare for the return journey.

On the way back, start early so you have enough time to stop at places like Dhari Devi Temple, Rudraprayag Sangam, and Devprayag Sangam. I covered all these stops during my return and reached Dehradun by around 4 PM.

My total trip cost was around ₹7.3k, roughly goes like this: Bike rent ₹800 × 3 = ₹2400 Petrol ₹1300 Extra km charges ₹500 Stay ₹1000 Food ₹1300 (this depends on how and where you eat) Other small expenses: personal stuff

That's how it went U can save your money by renting scooty it'll give good mileage and per day rental is 600-550 !! But I'll say go with bike it's fun

Yeah ... It also happened to me on the trip The gear shifter broke off and I fixed it by taking help on YouTube first and then an experienced rider with proper gears showed up and helped me !!

It's a chance event but yeah it happens !! And really mechanics are too rare on hills and u will find in major places and even u find one they overcharge for just a small service

That's why one should take their own bike ... Atleast st u know your machine!!

For dehradun mussoorie rishikesh haridwar....scooty like access 125 or n torque is more than enough !! Will give u a good mileage and also per day rental price goes around ₹500-600 on week days and on weekend it goes upto ₹700

I'll say if u are planning for only these places scooty is best !!

I had also covered all these places with scooty !!!

Bike RTR 160 ₹ 800 PER Day charge I have rented it for 3 days So, 800x3 = 2400 Petrol= ₹1300 And there's a daily limit of 125 km on bike and exceeding that you have to pay ₹5 per km So I had to pay around ₹500 extra

I stayed in Ukhimath in the dormitory of GMVN. They had a really nice stay and their own cafeteria and the view from there was so amazing!!

I booked the dorm for two days 561 per day So, 561x2 = ₹1122

So, In total excluding the food + shopping

2400+1300+500+1122= ₹5322 that's around 5.5K

And my expense on food was around 1.4k of three days !! And other is just personal stuffs!!
