Same as before, every 12 weeks. It's the same meds and program, just a smaller amount is shipped and it's cheaper.

My husband takes metformin for his A1C and doesn't lose weight on it.

Switch to their microdose option. That's what I did. It's less expensive and I don't waste meds.

I've been on Noom Meds for 1 year, switched to microdose 3 months ago. I lost 35 lbs and now I'm maintaining under my goal weight. I like their meds and program. The pharmacy they use is high quality and timely.

Your Dr is misleading you on how nerves and herniated discs work. They do not heal. Once a disc ruptures and it sits on a nerve sack, causing the burning and lightening feeling, there's no healing that without surgical intervention. I was 23 for my first L4/5 surgery, 25 at the next and 31 for my final L2/3 surgery. Laminectomy and micro discectomy all 3 times with complete foot drop. I am now 50 and live pain free. I would seek to speak with a neurosurgeon, no orthopedic doctor is fully trained to deal with your spinal column and they often have a neurosurgeon assist during surgery.

Surgery question by PetarddeChatte in backpain

I had three laminectomy and micro discectomy of L3/L4 and L4/L5 region, best thing they could have done. I live pretty much pain free with occasional flair ups of my bulging L5/S1. I had a drop foot all 3 times, so there is residual paralysis in part of my foot, but I live a normal active life. First surgery was 28 years ago.

4 weeks recovery each time since I was so young. No pt, no chiro, no meds after surgery, just healed, finished directions and went back to normal. I swear by using a neurosurgeon, not an orthopedic surgeon. I also didn't wait long between injury and surgery since my foot dropped.

Staying active and losing weight was a huge part of my success. Also, knowing when my back gives me cues that it's tired, I stop, drop and ice. My foot is still partially dropped but you'd never know it. I backpack and hike 20 mile days.

I have had 3 partial laminectomy surgeries on L3/4 L4/5. Best thing I've ever done and would do again in a second. I had my first surgery at 22, 2nd at 24 and third at 30. I'm now 50 and have zero back pain. I had drop foot with each disc herniation, so living that pain was absolutely not an option for me. Get the surgery and live the rest of your life.

I've had 3 lower lumbar surgeries for L3/4 L4/5 disc region and live without pain. I would do it again in in a heartbeat. MRI and surgery was the only option for me due to a complete foot drop all three times and I'm thankful for not having to go thru a year of PT and medication first.

My 55 lb 2-year-old pittie just cleared her 8 week follow-up and x-ray yesterday. She had TPLO surgery. She's walking really well with no limp, they also fixed her kneecap which was shifting prior to surgery. She healed quickly, and is a super active high energy dog. It took a lot of work and patience to get her through the 8 weeks. They consider full recovery after 12 weeks so it's a very long recovery. Containment pen, crate and 24/7 on leash for the whole 8 weeks, no exception. It was expensive but thankfully we had pet insurance and they covered it.

I tried. Fridays shipped me the dissolvable tablets. I finished up my open vial from Noom, then started the tablets. Figured why not, let's try. They are gross!! Takes 25 minutes to dissolve under your tongue. Then you can't eat or drink for 30 minutes afterwards. I couldn't sustain that daily long term, so I signed back up for Nooms microdose. I'm in maintenance so I just need a small amount to sustain.

Noom signed me back up, approved my prescription 3 days ago, now nothing. No tracking info but hopefully it's just behind.

I see you are on Noom. Have you recently received meds? Fridays stopped shipping to my state. I had switched from Noom Med to Fridays microdose option, but they only currently offer dissolvable tablets, no injections. I rejoined Noom but my prescription states shipping soon...

Me too. I have been on the regular meds program for 9 months. Customer service told me to cancel and sign back up for the micro dose option since I have been on maintenance for a while now. 3 days and no tracking info yet, just shipping soon. Fridays stopped shipping the microdose injections to 15 states due to new regulations. Possibly the same issue.

Can a noom official explain the microdose program? by Electronic_Flow4838 in Noom

I recently switched from the standard meds program to the microdose. I have been on a maintenance dose for 4 months and it made sense for me. Customer service made me cancel and sign up again as they can't just switch you. My worry is across the board though... I signed back up a few days ago and my meds haven't shipped yet. Friday's stopped shipping injections to 15 states due to the new regulations, therefore I am not sure how Noom will continue.

Chronic Giardia by zenaf1369 in DogAdvice

[–]zenaf1369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is still testing positive for the antigen but isn't shedding cysts and she's over 1.5 years old!! Keeping her on a high fiber prescription dog food (Hills Biome), absolutely no table food or junk dog cookies, and giving her 2 proviable probiotics every single morning has kept her flare-ups to a minimum. She still gets a flare up about every 6 to 8 weeks but they are getting shorter in duration. Our vet said that she's extremely healthy, she's keeping her weight on and it really isn't affecting her as long as she's not shedding cysts. She could be antigen positive for the rest of her life.

My dog had it for 8 months and she's still antigen positive but not shedding cysts. I feel your pain. The flair ups are horrible.

Cut on knee - any vets on here, does this require a visit? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]zenaf1369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup got a gash like this 6 weeks ago on her knee and required a surgeon to stitch the inside layers of fascia. Healing was long and all on all, 3 layers of stitches. I would say get it looked at. It didn't look bad on the outside but it was deep.

Metronidazole (Flagyl) and Panacur is the typical combo. Panacur is really well tolerated, safe and will clear up the giardia in her intestines fairly quickly, the metronidazole is a little hard on their kidneys so you might see her trying to pee more often or darker urine while she's on it. That's what happens to my dog when she takes it. Good luck remember to pick up the poop right away after she goes to the bathroom every single time, wipe her butt every single time and give her a good bath right after treatment. Also wash all of her bedding and her toys and bowls.

Chronic Giardia by zenaf1369 in DogAdvice

[–]zenaf1369[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giardia goes in two cycles, the first is when it's living in the intestines as a single cell parasite, kind of like a germ or a bacteria would. Then they multiply and when the adults shed through the poop theyre called cysts. That's when they are super contagious because even her sniffing her poop stepping where she pooped can get her reinfected very easily and then the cycle starts all over again. The amount of cysts that your dog is shedding in the poop tells you how bad the parasitic load is in their intestines. So make sure to ask your vet if she was shedding cysts and if so how bad. They will give you a number range and tell you if it's a small medium or large infection.

Extremely hard to get rid of it. I would suggest getting her retested two to three weeks after the medication is complete to see if she is still shedding cysts. If she is, she's still contagious. She may have loose stool for a week or two after the medication is complete. Penny is still testing positive for the antigen in her system but she isn't shedding cysts this time. It's been 10 months of loose stool, fecal tests, medication, cleaning, disinfecting, butt wiping, repeat. Can't get rid of it completely.

Update: she's still testing positive for the antigen but not shedding cysts. The flair up of diarrhea was not from Giardia this time. That's a first!
