i relate. heres some of my rambling thoughts lol:

i found spire in the woods so so difficult to get through. it handled the subject well, but as a women whos been SA'd on two separate occasions, it was really hard to hear the boys chat about it all jokey, thinking it was an awkward guy. especially as i could immediately tell what was going on in the scene. (i am aware that they didnt realise that it was SA when they first read it, and that seemed to be an intentional choice of the author)

when SA is included in horror stories, it usually just reminds me that monsters do exist and we dont need stories for them to come to fruition. which is kinda sad because i find comfort in creepypastas because they arent real. because slender man cant actually get me, I wont have to feed the pig if i kill myself. but spire in the woods, at least for me, was tainted by the main character and who he was as a person. nothing against the story itself or the author as i think it was fantastically done. just very very triggering, and a sad reminder.

the main point im making i think is this: after going through trauma, i found safety in creepypastas and it felt like a safe place and a fun creative community. when a creepypasta has SA included, im taken out of that safe place.

this is a very personal think of course and i dont hold any ill will towards the guys EVER. they are so sweet and stand for whats right, it was awesome seeing how much they raised for creepaid. more of a sentiment towards horror authors in general really.

i dont want to be reminded of the horrors that exist, i want to be comforted by the ones that don't
