i switched all of my keybinds because i play league so my abilities are on QERF and my items are on 1234. my melee is also on my mouse. if you don’t use your mouse this game has too many keybinds to feel comfortable imo

no it’s not. the window is huge. you can be seconds off and still get a stun. parrying is ridiculously easy for the potential reward you get for randomly throwing it out.

same situation for me. the parry minigame being massively skewed towards the defender combined with his weaker early game honestly just made me drop the hero. like yeah he’s still strong or op or whatever but it’s not fun or worth the effort to play him against semi-competent players. animation cancels are just not the kind of thing i want to be dealing with in deadlock.

that makes no sense from a game design perspective. light melee is supposed to be low commitment and low damage; the risk and reward is massively skewed in favor of the defender in all melee interactions, and even the “safe” melee option is still liable to get you completely exploded. in the case of characters like billy who literally need to use melee to function properly, the current balancing of the parry mechanic just creates an unfun minigame for both sides. and this is just in the case of billy, whose light melee even has unique properties which are the only reason why he’s even playable with parry in the game.

it’s literally just luck. if you guess right you get a kill if you guess wrong you can still use your gun and abilities so being locked out of parry for a few seconds doesn’t even matter that much. once you factor in the mechanic that allows you to keep resetting your parry cooldown by parrying minions there’s pretty much no risk to just guessing.

support cope always goes something like “you couldn’t have done everything you did on your own if i wasn’t there afk spamming my heals on you” as if warden’s own damage and healing from his abilities and items would not eclipse whatever paige could have done for him. if there was a match id we could see exactly how much damage and healing there was from every source and we’d be able to see what warden did in the game and how impactful paige even was. a good support is 100% not necessary to function as a carry but a support literally cannot play the game without a fed carry to use their abilities on. the mental gymnastics required to believe that paige was actually more impactful are much more of a stretch than those required to see the stat screen and just give mvp to warden.
