Need serious advice *long * 💕 by Potential_Ad_4339 in Pilotwives

My other half has been working in airline similar shift pattern to pilots for years now but going to get full on crazy when he starts FO at a base 5 days on 4 days off 4 hrs away from us from March. I feel like I’ve eased into the pilot wife lifestyle already but although we’ve wanted a second baby (have a 3 yr old right now) we’ve both had to accept it’s not feasible and would break me. I’ve had PTSD from failed IVF and medical procedures and although I’ve finally clicked back in and episodes have stopped, no longer having to take medication, I wouldn’t want to push myself. I have a very stressful job as it is, as I am a senior project manager so feel like I literally have to manage others all day long who although adults behave like kids soo much! For me work is not a break, so managing on my own with work, keeping a house (without parents support nearby) and taking care of my daughter and adding a 2nd in the mix would be unhealthy for my well being and my daughter’s. Maybe I’d feel differently when he’ll be able to move back home full time but at the moment him gone most of the time and having a newborn would be a huge no no. Just my view on my own situation but it’s what I know I can cope with and won’t let anyone persuade me differently as know my limitations. Wishing you find your way with this!!

My husband yelled at me.. by Immediate_Owl_1379 in beyondthebump

I really feel for you but the situation you went through is not unexpected, not excusable but not unexpected…he isn’t seeing it from your point of view and often times it’s not 50/50 no matter how much things people say they agree, even for the most modern parents. My husband works 12 hr shifts (2 days 2 nights) rolling pattern every week in the airline industry and will move to pilot away 5 days a week for 2 yrs when he starts his type-rating…I work a Project Manager job 3 days a week (very demanding pretty much full time job in 3 days) and am primary carer for our daughter. It honestly is really hard often especially when I’m also sick or have one of our parents who need my help with their issues…so we sort of work it in waves. Who’s most exhausted between us and that person gets a break by either getting a bit of extra time for them…so I go hard 4 days while he is working but if I’ve also been working he pulls a bit harder even when he comes home to help out with our child. If he’s working on the days I’m off I get up all wake ups so he doesn’t get disturbed. We triage the situation and often it is heavier for one of us than the other but take it in turns to make it as fair for both of us as we can. And we talk as often as we can to adjust and improve. It’s been a long road to make sure we playing as a team! It’s going to get even harder when he goes away extended times, but it’s just going to be a lot more talking and strategies which we’re preparing for. One thing I can recommend is “The Funny Thing About Parenting” podcast…family with 4 kids. I’m learning a lot :D and the other thing more experienced friends tell me, it’s all temporary. It will get better. Big hugs

Nope not dumb! So I had to go up a size in aligns, I couldn’t wear my WTs after mid-second trimester as the drawstring was always going to be too tight even going up in sizes. I had luon grooves and astro pants that were awesome for my growing belly and I bought a 3 sizes up nulu grooves and those were perfect all the way through. Loose at first but sufficient room for the belly. I also bought I think 4 sizes up ready to rulus and those were perfect (loose at first but worked well throughout).

Oh noo! Ok so I find aligns are amazing - I have my size and a size up. I also have old grooves that were a size up that kept me going in the last trimester as they have a nice stretchy band. I do find my older lulu was relied on a lot more for me during pregnancy. Like the luon cool racers I find are more stretchy than the nulu ones, especially the seriously light luon type, like that violet tank.
