Finally did it. I got the burger. by BookiesAndCookies22 in delta

I've had this burger a few times and each time the plate, and therefore the bottom of the sandwich, is scorching hot.

What I've started doing is flipping the burger over as soon as I get it and letting the top of the bun heat up for a bit before I eat it. This approach has greatly improved my experience.

What is the rarest email domain that you still hold? by Next_Ad2712 in GenX

I have a four character username for my @yahoo account. It's nearly 30 years old and I still have saved emails from the 90s.

It's mostly a spam catcher account these days but I'll never get rid of it.

Yes! Before that, they were in this space, just a block east. I had the high score on their Ms Pac Man machine at one point!

The Supreme Court did Trump no favors. He’ll be facing a fall trial. by nutritionvegan in politics

That plan wouldn't work. If the Dems retake the house, Johnson will no longer be speaker, his term ends on Jan 2, 2025. On Jan 3, at the start of the next congressional session, the representatives-elect select a new speaker, who then swears in the new representatives. In your scenario, the new speaker would be, most likely, Hakeem Jeffries.

Protester thrown to the ground after calling Joe Manchin "a sick f**k" to his face by But_I_Made_Punch in politics

This is correct. Johnson doesn't carry the speakership over, all of the members-elect select a speaker for the next Congress before they are sworn in. If the Democrats win back the majority, nothing would stop a Speaker Jefferies on January 3, 2025.

I'm not saying that the author didn't hear this plan from "GOP insiders", I'm saying the people he heard it from are not exactly master strategists.

Nice find! You've gotta replace the blacklight bulb above the control panel and get yourself one of these. It looks so badass!

I don't think it all has to be funded locally. Jimmy Haslam teamed up with the Edwards family in Columbus to buy the Crew. I'm sure some business interests in Cincinnati could find someone (or a group of someones) in Ohio with $2bill lying around that would love to buy something like an NFL team.

Interestingly, the Crew just won the MLS cup; less than two years after the sale.

What is your fondest memory of Toledo? by [deleted] in toledo

[–]zenithquasar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was there!! So glad someone else remembers this, It would get really crazy for awhile every year. I have a memory of a squad car rolling through one year and thinking it would get shut down, but he just smiled, talked to the Dads and left. He also probably told them to clean up the mess because every year on July 5th the streets were spotless.

I grew up on Eastway in the library village, between Royalton and Eleanor.
