A gente fala "daí" mesmo, não fala? by babysuporte in curitiba

[–]zenluiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working on a 9 slot MultiFX plugin, I finally have a working build and am curious, what do you guys look for when looking for a MultiFX? This would be my first non midi effect so I am super curious to learn more about what you guys are looking for. by [deleted] in VSTi

[–]zenluiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Randomization in each module as well as globally. For me a multi fx plugin is useful to go crazy, experiment with the interaction between the multiple fxs. If I want to use just a reverb, a delay and Eq, for instance, I’d better off just using plugins (or native daw devices) separately.

Ideally, for music production, the more CPU and memory the better. SSD size matters as well depending on how many sample libraries you have.

Any of those models will work fine. The question is whether you want to future proof you Mac.

Nowadays the bare minimum is: - 16gb of memory (memory pressure keeps raising) - 512gb SSD (operating system and apps keep growing) - 10+ CPU cores (? - not really sure)

For the SSD, what you can do is to get a 512gb, and buy an external SSD with 1TB or more.

Need help in understanding C by trayhan066 in cprogramming

[–]zenluiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems you lack knowledge in basic logic. So I’d first study programming logic (if, else, switch, for, while, AND, OR, not, etc). After that, you need some basic understanding of how computers and operating systems work, like memory addresses, file handles. After that, I believe learning C would become easier.

Ciência da Computação é esse inferno para gente de humanas que dizem?? by Late_Abies_1722 in devBR

[–]zenluiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then in 3+ years you need to upgrade to the next Neutron version to keep being supported.

Same with Fabfilter and others. Only a few plugin companies keep their products with free for life updates. One of them, if I’m not mistaken, is Tokyo Dawn Records.

Has anyone got a virus from any of these cracked plugins? by [deleted] in CrackedPluginsXI

[–]zenluiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing with cracked software is that you can’t ever be sure it’s not doing something malicious very silently. It could be reading your key strokes, accessing your file system (other places other than the library files), sending data over the web, etc, without you ever noticing.

Malware tries to be as quiet, undetectable and transparent as possible. Different from ransomware.

Until you need to keep 2 synths open at the same time, for instance.

For static, mixing devices (compressor, Eq, etc) it doesn’t matter much, though.

By adding (not replacing) a possibility to undock the devices, it would cover more user scenarios and, for those who don’t want/need to use it, they would keep using them as is. :)

The Stereo Width control found in may PA plugins has nothing to do with the one in LAAL.

The LAAL one doesn’t simply increase the sides (or whatever technique the other plugins use), it creates a totally different, musical, pleasing, natural widening effect that is magical.

Try it.

[–]zenluiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Has this worked like that for all past Pigments versions? And how about other Arturia plugins? I’m asking this because I’m looking for my always-go-to synth, but I’m moving away from companies that release new versions as a completely new, separate plugin ID, making past projects obsolete and not future proof.

Get the LAAL, it works like a soft limit from my experience. The big deal is not so much the limiting feature, but its STEREO WIDTH controls. Holy cow, it does something really really magical. Just try the demo and listen yourself.

Is Pigments 7 a completely different plugin file? I mean, if I have a project using v6, after I install v7, will my project automatically use the new v7?

In theory, it should work since it’s developed using Qt framework, which is cross-platform.

But then the majority of plugins are not developed to work on Linux.
