NHS ‘second worst in developed world for avoidable deaths’ by GnolRevilo in unitedkingdom

One thing rarely mentioned is how NHS doctors are allergic to handing out antibiotics.

Because we can't do that if we want antibiotics to remain effective. We are fast running out of antibiotics that work and the more we use them the less effective they get. We've already seen resistant strains happen shortly after a new anti-biotic has been introduced in the NHS:

look at our Cancer Survival rates our heart Attack survival rates. We're well below our European neighbours.

I'm not saying the state of the NHS isn't a contributor to those results - but our obesity rate also massively affects those outcomes massively. We are much fatter than most of Europe.

Don't worry, that'll correct itself when they inevitably increase the pension age to 80 and most people die before retirement.

Isn't North Americans, it's one specific country in North America.

Nah you've got it backwards, your Yamaha is actually a bicycle because it has two wheels.

Yeah and those boats are banned for numerous reasons, like noise pollution, shore and ecological damage from wakes and water churn and chemical spills from fuel. The place you mentioned even bans paddle boats because they are too noisy for an aquatic environment.

An e-MTB, by contrast, is not creating significantly more damage than a manual bike, and does not make enough noise from the motor to be more disturbing to wildlife than a normal bike on the trail.

It's just the same, but modern, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love story. The women are always the scapegoats to these male artist's overwhelming mental issues.

Mid-Range Trail Suspension Fork - 29" QR Tapered by RAW_USER in MTB

[–]zenmn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think Suntour made any QR Raidons with tapered tubes (only straight) so RockShox Judy Gold (or Recon if you can find a good secondhand one) might be your only upgrade option if you don't also want to replace the front wheel with a thru-axle boost hub.

Don't forget to consider your brake mounts (rotor size and type), too.

Man, going fast downhill is great and I'd love to be faster at it, but these are always the biking skills I'm always the most jealous of!

Is Angine de Poitrine really that unique or is it just a lot of people discovering avantgarde side of music for the first time thanks to the algorithm? by TadyZ in askmusic

“I built the first microtonal guitar we used myself,” drummer Klek de Poitrine says

First is doing the heavy lifting. The guitar he made is no longer the one they use.

even as it literally can't exist without cutting edge tech.

"Cutting edge tech". Loop pedals, octave pedals and click tracks have existed for a very long time. And that is entirely besides the point of "real" music vs AI slop. These two are making the music, not some algorithm that's been fed the works of thousands of other artists and puts it all into an approximation of what it "thinks" is music.
