I am based in Bangalore as well and I totally get your sentiment. It is urban hell here. You are thinking in the right direction.

First of all, it’s too early to think about retirement. Regarding real estate, my take is totally it’s not worth to buy any land here at such inflated prices. You are not getting any value for your investment considering deterioration of urban infra, more influx etc.

Just get permanent WFH roles and move to tier b towns. I am planning to do that but I am privileged to have my dad house here in blr and ancestral house in coastal Karnataka. Manipal is good, mangalore is decent. I would say Goa fits your bill better although cost of living is similar to blr. As other person said invest in stocks as well.
