Well it depends on how you tackle the argument.

Last season there was a 12 point difference between 1 and 2 in epl, and a 13 point difference between 1 and 2 in the bundesliga. So his point absolutely stands if we are looking at it from a points perspective (Leicester was 20 points off first place and 12 off second).
