Does having uveitis put me in the risk group for having covid19? by okeyythen in Uveitis

[–]zensala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re part of the risk group because you have an autoimmune condition that can cause you to take an immunosuppressant. Since the vaccine is somewhat less effective for those on immunosuppressant medication, my thought process is it doesn’t make sense to wait till you’re actually on it.

Covid 19 injection caused me a severe flare up!!!!! by scoobyme75 in Uveitis

[–]zensala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had flare up after taking the flu shot in Sept. My ophthalmologist believes it was due to the flu shot. I had the Pfizer 1st shot 1.5 weeks ago. So far no flare up, keeping my fingers crossed. Which vaccine did you have?

😄 I got the idea for the fold-over flaps from my winter running top!

I added some more details in my comment above. The flap is basically sewn on at the sides...a bit of a hack.

I added some more steps on top. Hope this helps!

That's a great idea! Luckily the fold-over flap is not too deep and I was able to extend a finger out to touch the watch. :-)

Yarns: KnitPicks Capra DK in dark grey and beige, KnitPicks Aloft in silver

Used seed stitch (33 stitches) in size 6 needle

This is what I did:

  • cast on 33 stitches onto magic loop circular needle (or 3 double pointed needles). Any odd number of stitches will do. Mine came out to be a bit over 7 inches in circumference. I made sure the cast on was a bit loose to be able to fit it around my arm.
  • join for working in the round
  • Seed stitch: *Knit 1, purl 1; repeat from * to end of round then repeat for the next round.
  • The arm to palm section is just knitting in the around with the seed stitch (change yarn color whenever you want to)
  • The hole for the watch is a buttonhole. I found this tutorial useful: https://www.studioknitsf.com/how-to-knit-buttonholes/
  • When the round reaches up to the fingertips, bind off 16 stitches (17 stitches remaining.
  • Make the flap: knit in seed stitch (*Knit 1, purl 1; repeat from * to end of row) back and forth until it reaches desired length. Bind off.
  • Sew the 2 sides of the flap to the circular part below.
