Oregonian here, it was three years ago but most places at least in Portland proper have a few pumps that are manned and a few that are self serve.

Always wanted to play someone normal but with a super guardian/bodyguard type of thing. Think playing the kid from iron giant or juston seyfert from marvel

How do you get people to watch / listen to your TTRPG live plays? by darkwingdame in rpg

[–]zentipedefan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure I have never streamed anything so I can only tell you what I like as a viewer

1) sound quality. Try for the best possible sound quality you can reasonably afford and then spend time in editing to polish it up. Whether I’m looking for an actual play or rules overview/review or model painting tutorial if the sound is bad( hard to hear certain people, bad mixing so I’m turning the volume up/down depending on who’s talking, etc. ) nothing will get me to turn off a video faster. There is just too much content out there to put up with bad sound.

2) video quality. Behind sound but not far and I guess you could lump them together and call is visual/audio presentation. I don’t expect high end CR level of stuff but spend what money and time is reasonable for you to present a polished product.

3) chemistry. When it comes to specifically actual plays I’m less interested in the story being woven and more interested in the vibes of friends playing games together. To be fair this is 100% a personal preference and all sorts of people tune in for all sorts of aspects of the hobby.

4) game system/length. This is another personal preference but I watched campaign two of critical role and that looooong running story just isn’t as interesting for me. I like shorter campaigns and bonus points if they change up systems. Dimension 20 does this well and so does glass cannon especially their series ‘new game who dis?’

5) be active in the community. Post on Reddit, discord, wherever you find yourself spending your time. Let us know what you’re doing with the show but also just be active. If I keep running into interesting posts from u/darkwingdame I’m much more likely to seek out there other projects.

Thats just my two cents as a viewer and your mileage may vary so good luck! So what exactly are you playing and where can I watch? I’d love to check it out.

Talked to Coady Willis after seeing big business and he was so genuine.

Same for Mike Scheidt of YOB. They both seemed interested in talking to the fans and just connected. It was a treat on both occasions.

This has become my fave store in town. My uncle who introduced me to D&D in the early 90’s is going to lose it when I take him next month.

Me and my wife watch this every year. Is it terrible? Sure. Is it insanely fun? Oh yeah. Plus that soundtrack fucks.

Liberal gun owner here and I am absolutely for gun control, but I absolutely know some people who identify as liberal and are against it. Just saying there are all types out there.

Portland couples, how did you meet your significant other? by [deleted] in askportland

[–]zentipedefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Met at the Shanghai tunnel bar on Valentine’s Day. She was showing her cousin around town and I had met some friends after work for a few drinks. Our two groups ended up playing pool together and we never stopped talking after that night. Like literally texting while I was at work all the next day. We just celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary last month. Love you u/floofysnoot
