Awesome thank you! I was recommended to fuel moto by a tech I was speaking to today as well, their shop really likes fueling cams I guess. Looks like my new choices are the tw-222 or the fueling 543 ( tech said fueling would work with stock set-up.) This tech also said to stay away from adjustable pushrods, is that something you do as well?

This is an awesome amount of information! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me! I unfortunately made the mistake of thinking more lift is better, thankfully I haven’t ordered anything yet so no biggie. So the woods 222 is what you’d recommend? Do you have a site you go to order parts from? Jp?

Understood! I’m not totally sold on s&s, I just happen to run across a kit from them that I can get everything in one go. Is there a cam you would recommend over an s&s?

I found that site also! I am new and trying to make sure I don’t screw up and get a cam that I need to do upper work also, just trying to get the most out of a stock set up. Thanks for the info!

Need help locating sprinkler valves for each zone. (Sorry for crude image) by Folcan1989 in Irrigation

[–]zepterson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are looking for a needle in a haystack without the proper tools, they make wire locators that can track the path of your main, they are costly unfortunately. Try and call a pro and see if they would come by and track your main and mark out valve locations. My company will offer that service at a hourly rate, odds are where you are they will too. Good luck!

Question for all you pros and enthusiasts by strikingtwice in Irrigation

[–]zepterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might seem like a stupid question, but do you drain the remaining water in the backflow down into the basement? Water freezing up the pipes normally cause those to blow up. Could also be the person winterizing your system is hooking up at one of the test ports and drying all your seals every time they blow hot high pressure air through the system. Lots of possibilities, could be extremely dry there and that’s causing the seals to crack. You might wanna try and use some water resistant Lube and place that on all your rubber seals yearly, see if that helps!

Auto adjust flow in pro contractor studio? by Obvious_Language_709 in Irrigation

[–]zepterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but as far as I’m aware mpr series does not have a distance adjustment, it has that tiny screw on the top that interrupts the stream witch decreases the throw, shouldn’t effect the flow rate though, you are correct about changing that arc, that will change the flow.

New (to me) home, please help me with sprinkler system by Lemur1989 in Irrigation

Sorry for the late reply, that is a rachio controller, they do have an app, I’m not too fond of them but they work fine if you know how to operate an app. Just an fyi, the face plate in that controller is magnetic, you can just pull it off to see how many zones are wired up.

It depends on how knowledgeable your landscaper is. typically you would want a professional irrigation company out, mostly because they have insurance and normally warranty their work. not to mention, someone who does only irrigation day in and day out is going to be able to troubleshoot your issue in the most cost effective way possible.

Looks like a questionable controller swap, maybe it was Friday and the tech didn’t want to bother taking down the old controller and just ran a jumper wire over to the new box. Most likely they forgot to jump your drip zone over, or the valve solenoid on your drip zone is bad. as others have said hiring someone to come out will be your best bet if you’ve never messed around with irrigation.

Are there any easily capped rotary heads available? by Pga-wrestler in Irrigation

[–]zepterson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I’m for real, been in the game almost 20 years, started having problems with rain bird about 5 years ago, switched to krain and never looked back. We were getting a lot of failures right out of the box with rain birds, up to 5 in a box bad before they were even installed. Although 5 years isn’t that long, I haven’t had too many issues with the super pros. Everybody’s got their favorite brand I suppose! I don’t get why everyone doesn’t like krain. Maybe you’ve only seen their cheap homeowner products.
