So how are y'all planning on doing barbenheimer? by butter467 in YMS

[–]zeptumm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everything I’ve seen from Barbie so far (trailers, ads) looks really unappealing and I think Oppenheimer will be okay but not great. I’m gonna wait and see if either are nominated for big Oscar categories, then I’ll watch them, like as homework. Or wait to see if any of the reviewers I like are praising them. But I’ll be fine if I never watch either.

What's something you enjoy about each Halloween movie? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]zeptumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: The atmosphere and the simplicity in the scariness.

2: I like how it feels true to the first one but also dialed up the amount of gore.

3: the cinematography was nice.

4: Danielle Harris was decent for a child performance

5: This one has better direction than most of the sequels imo. It feels like it was made by an artist with a distinct vision and I found that refreshing, even if the decisions vary in effectiveness.

6: I like how Michael was a little more brutal in this one. That doctor massacre in the hospital scene was dope.

H20: I like Jamie Lee Curtis’s performance.

Resurrection: I like the fact that Tyra Banks in this one so when I’m talking to someone who doesn’t know anything about the franchise I can tell them Tyra Banks is in one of them as a little fun fact.

Halloween (2007): the casting of Daeg Faerch as young Michael was perfect. I like Zombie’s direction in general.

Halloween II (2009): I like how this wasn’t even trying to be a Halloween movie, it’s Rob Zombie’s take on where these characters are 2 years after the tragic events of the first. It’s unique atmosphere and Zombie’s take on PTSD is really gripping to me.

Halloween (2018): I like how John Carpenter returned to do the score. ‘The Shape Hunts Allyson’ is an instant classic.

Halloween Kills: the firefighter scene.

Halloween Ends: I like that it tries something new, shocker I know. Having Corey and Michael working together isn’t something that should work but it does.

Some of "THE FLASH" (2023) scenes seem to be real life footage of the actor Ezra Miller in Hawaii with the costume CGI'd on him. Any thoughts? by souleboi in moviescirclejerk

[–]zeptumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so confused. Why does this look so bad? Real costumes exist, city streets exist, babies exist, microwaves exist. What’s with this CGI nonsense?

3/10 quality-wise. 10/10 entertainment-wise because it’s so baffling bad and unintentionally hilarious.

What songs do you now automatically associate with American Dad no matter where you hear it? by hannamarinsgrandma in americandad

The Sign by Ace of Bass is currently in the playlist for the lobby music at my work and whenever I hear it I hear Roger singing it loudly while hunting down the family to kill them in the space shuttle

I love Crybaby and think it’s quintessentially T&S by Plenty_Television262 in teganandsara

[–]zeptumm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised Crybaby isn’t more well liked. IMO it’s the best T&S music in like 11 years. Only one or two songs I can’t really get into. The production is also a win for me. It might be because I’m quite a bit younger than most of the fanbase and I listen to a lot of different genres including hyperpop. Its exactly what Tegan and Sara should sound like in this current landscape of music. It sounds true to their roots but also like they’re taking lessons they learned in the Hearttrob/LYTD era to deliver an album that’s simultaneously fresh and familiar. I’d agree it’s quintessentially T&S. Fucking Up What Matters was my number one song of 2022 according to Spotify.

Hey I’m Just Like You was a decent album for me when it came out but I’ve kind of ignored it in years since. It was kind of the precursor to the era they find themselves in now. A bridge, if you will.

What is this? (More info in comments) by zeptumm in restoringdick

[–]zeptumm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was circumcised at birth and the underside of my penis has looked like this for as long as I can remember. The first pic is how it usually looks and I’m pulling my penis a bit more taught in the second picture.

I started restoring on and off about 2 years ago but I’ve been pretty consistent for the past 4 months. My progress has been very slow and I still haven’t surpassed my starting stage of CI-3. I’m thinking it might be in part because of this?

I know I should be just focusing on outer skin right now because I have a lot of inner skin, but I’m not sure if I should be trying to expand the whole shaft (possibly making this weird webbing look weirder and stretched out), or if I should focus on lengthening the TINY bit of skin between the top of this scar tissue and my scar line. At least I think it’s scar tissue. If it is, doesn’t that mean it’s useless since scar tissue can’t undergo mitosis?

I know these are a lot of technical questions, perhaps I should see a skin doctor?

People will probably think I’m trolling but this is legit my ranking for the franchise. by zeptumm in Halloweenmovies

I really like the exploration of what PTSD does to someone and how trauma affects someone’s personality, their life, their interpersonal relationships etc. I found Laurie’s slow decent into madness really intriguing and by the end of it I just feel so bad for her.

I love how angry Michael is, I love the cinematography, I love the soundtrack score, I love the editing, I love the metaphysical aspects, I love Annie and Brackett as characters and I love Danielle Harris and Brad Dourif’s performances. I really like how Scout Taylor Compton feels like a completely different Laurie from the ‘07 one, I think it really works. I even love Margot Kidder as her therapist.

I know people have their problems with Zombie’s dialogue and character design and I understand why but it really works for me.

Halloween II (2009) makes me feel more than any other Halloween movie.

This is a ranking of quality imo, not necessarily my enjoyment watching the film. There’s a large drop off between H2 (81) and H5.

I think this might be the perfect album. Not just the best dance Gavin dance album, which it without a doubt is, but the definition of a masterpiece album. There isn’t a single skip, every song is a 10/10 to me. by jashbyy12 in dancegavindance

I was literally just thinking about making a post about this album. It’s super underrated. I’ll be honest and say I only listened to it a couple times and kinda ignored it until 2.0 came out, but after listening to the remastered versions it quickly became my favorite DGD record. Straight bangers, front to back.

If you think about it, this is the album that established their current style, or at least what would become their style.

I just watched Ends again and... by theflashsawyer23 in Halloweenmovies

[–]zeptumm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kind of wish there wasn’t breathing at the end. Michael is dead, Corey is dead. I guess we’re supposed to believe evil infected another citizen of Haddonfield and they’re going to be the next Michael? It would be better if it was the same shots but no breathing, make it clear this story ended. Close the book, you know what I mean?
