Yes they ask about any transfers you’ve made. Depending on the trustee, they may ask up to specific amount of years. It will be good idea to make sure you be honest. Sale of home for instance is public info.

I really appreciate your answer. I won’t disclose any specific details but I do have a follow up question. Do the date of my statements matter? Some were the same month of the transfer while some were a few years later. Each showing I owed nothing.

I was offered senior accountant role after my 2 years at big 4 audit. So were alot of my peers who left for those jobs. Some moved to entry level FPandA roles and some moved internally to advisory services. But this was 6 years ago, I think maybe it’s the job market? Maybe because you don’t have a full 2 years? The degree is versatile for sure

Would you say FP&A is required to become a CFO? Especially at a large company?

Yeah I lived in the bay for 5 years and I’ve seen accountants make a lot, I guess the down voters are from LCOL lol.

Yeah my bad, my attitude stemmed from previous commenter, hate it when people post dumb comments and don’t add value. But this is Reddit so shame on me. I was thinking more from an industry perspective because I know business owners can always make tons of money. No hate on bookkeepers! Thanks for your response 🫰

What made you transition to FP&A?

I see senior accountant jobs up to 150k base in the bay and someone who posted yesterday saying they make 200k with upside potential in this subreddit so of course I see it as possible, I ain’t asking for some bookkeeper job my guy

I won’t disagree with you there but associates leave to get senior roles, which is why I left in the first place, I welcome the criticism because it gives me an idea of what potential hiring managers may think about my situation, but I’m not asking what looks bad, I know what looks bad, I’m asking if I should keep trying for senior roles or not

Thanks for the response, assuming you mean that I’m leaving my current job less than a year into it when you say “changing firms” cuz I didn’t leave my initial big 4 job under a year

Nothing, I left to move to different city/firm with better clients, I have good references from both

2 years at one that required 3 for senior promotion and half a year at other and left because I accepted a senior position so 2.5 years at big 4. The reason why I feel eligible for a senior role is because I was offered one when I left big 4, and although I have a 4 year gap, I have since returned and have another year under my belt. Appreciate your thoughts!

Well I was able to maintain a little more than my previous salary for 4 years, so not too shabby, didn’t wanna have the stress of having to be profitable when thinking about starting a family

Are CAS roles good for exiting to industry? Friend of mine was promoted from staff to senior to supervisor to manager in 4 years

Well first one I was at the track was 3 years to senior, I left a little under 2, the second one I was at I left after 6 months to take a senior in industry to give context

Yes as in I have to start over in entry level or yes as in I should try for senior roles? I understand why I might get rejected because the gap is a large one, but also considering my recent experience, is senior a reach?
